2.0"s are too small and you may as well just stick with Bilstein...light duty or not, a truck is a truck and needs a min of 2.25"...my 4th gen 4runner is rocking 2.5s and is perfect...I would have 2.5 be a min unless you're considering Falcon's 2.25 setup...

And this is why a few times a week I just gotta hit a trail, or steer off the road, the icons love it , I love it, my wife loves it, the bilstein 6112’s in front disagree but they’ll be alright.

And on that note, as expected, the icons in the rear of my truck which cost almost double the 6112’s have a very noticeable performance gap between the two. I’m saving up for uppers and icons up front. Worth it in my opinion.

^^I 100% agree...once you taste the difference in comfort and control, your opinion will be to upgrade to better setups...pay once (ish), cry once (ish)! Understand the life cost of the setup and be happy! I have no regrets other then me just needing to know what questions to ask a head of time so I'm not surprised...Icons are incredible and I assume the others (King, OME BF51, etc) are equally as good...

ok. Lets say I get the 2.5" non-RR elkas. With ~20k km driving every year (~12k miles) mostly back roads, dirt roads and highway at speed limit, and weekend excursions off road going slowly over stumps and rocks and through mudholes to get to my destination, but not going crazy throwing mud or anything, how often would you knowledgable guys expect the shocks to last between needing service?

Again, that is my opinion. I have ridden in both and the non-RR shock just doesn't have the control that the RR shock does. The oil volume, piston size and shock travel mean A TON on these trucks. If anyone asks me "Do I need reservoirs?" the answer is always yes.
This is what I'm talking about. Until you experience it, you won't care. Once you do, you will care.

I would say you'd be good for 60-80k miles minimum...if at all really...you would need to ask Elka what they recommend...no need to fix it if they aren't showing need for it...

Yup. The answer to the question is... When they need it.

The ultimate answer to "is it worth it?" is this.

If you want it, it's worth it. If you're not sure, you got 2 ways to go. Thug life it, or buy the off-the-shelf stuff and be happy with it. I assure you though, the performance difference is immense. Thing is, when you buy stuff like King and Fox, that's it. You tune it and you're at the top (talking stock replacement, not custom stuff). Anyone that reads this thread and buys off the shelf stuff will be wondering what that next step is like.

All this talk about the cost of tuning the suspension on the Tundra....it's the same if not worse on dirt bikes.:(:(

Just going off the title of your post, I'd say you're good with 6112s and some Coachbuilder shackles. Fox, ADS, Kings... all overkill for pavement pounding.
