Looks like they're holding the weight fine. I wouldn't be afraid to bump up a clip or maybe even two.

 

I was actually thinking the same thing but I'm not as knowledgeable about this as you so I was holding back. It looks normal to me. The only concern I see is that mangled ABS wire.

 

6112 came with springs from Camburg

the only writing I see is this number stamped
E4-FD1-Z449B02

 

Dropped it off over lunch and asked them to bring it up 1” (Driver Clip 5/Pass Clip 3).

They mentioned having to rebuild shocks. So sounds like another $220 for that before they even align it.

I feel better knowing other V8 DCs are happily running 650# coils, plus getting the Darkness Seal of Approval.

 

Just $425 later and we have the shocks rebuilt to clip 5/3, the precision alignment done. And definitely only a receipt. No alignment specs.

LONG SHOT, but has anyone ever tried installing 2003 Sequoia Springs (48131-AF110, AF120) on a 2002 Tundra 2WD AC TRD (48131-AF150, AF160)?

 

I measured the spring wire, and the sequoia spring wire is thicker, and the turdra trd spring has more coils and ?looks? progressive. So it might be taller.

Whats the plan? DC suspension on an AC? Gotta add weight to make it soft. Ive found suspension companies that offer tundra, but dont mention sequoia, but the ones that dont specify are cheap.

 

Nope. HUGELY lame reason. I bought basically all new front end parts for my truck. My wife just brought her Sequoia in for front struts. They replaced with a complete strut with new springs and all. I thought that MAYBE I could use her old springs to load up my new struts. I could bring them somewhere to press them in or whatever without having vehicle down. REALLY wish Bilstein and maybe Eibach would get together to build a complete strut that anyone could install. I nearly killed myself compressing some GM springs on a 96 Impala SS 20 years ago. Never again.......

Thanks for this info Lil Steve. I think I will be ordering replacements for my 05DC in the near future. My passenger side is sagging.

 

This is a great thread I plan to copy for my suspension upgrade. For the rear what made you go with the 5100 over the 5160. What am I missing?
