Muuuuch better after the swap from 2863 to 2864 OME COILS. Will still be installing the 2.5” Dobinsons once they arrive in a few months tho. Shoutout to 88 Rotors Offroad for taking care of me and shipping these out at no charge! Last piece of the puzzle is the tundra front end conversion that will get done as soon as I get back from SoCal next week.

And big UPPS to Miguell and the crew Midnight Garage in Fremont for taking care of the install and aligment at such short notice. Def gonna be taking future business over.

The Sequoia has a massive 3rd row, just as comfortable as the second row. When we were suv shopping we found that the competition doesn't even come close. The Tahoe feels like the 3rd row was an after thought and they just slammed seats on the floor. My boots wouldn't even slide under the seat in front of me, I had to twist my feet sideways. Try managing that for a road trip with your knees in your chest. I'm really surprised the Sequoia doesn't sell more for this very reason

Most car reviewers and people complain about how outdated it is, gas mileage is awful, etc. Most people don’t keep their vehicles more than 3 years nowadays so yea...no real value in how utilitarian, robust, and reliable it is anymore.

For me I wanted to solo camp in the sequoia. I’m relatively small so I think I would have been able to fit coolers, water, my rifle, and still be able to sleep inside it. Also I wanted something that can fly down fire roads.

dont quote me, but I believe the 2021 Tahoe/ Denali and Escalades all went to IRS. That is the ONLY reason why I considered them since the 3rd row seating drastically improved. We got some big boys in my family. Straight linemen! Although I'll never have them sit back there, its nice to know they could with ease if need be

    Qft

Oddly reviews claim the 3rd row is small. I'm not small and am comfortable back there.

I believe we test drove a 2020. My kids said no, they weren't comfortable in the 3rd row. Would have turned into a fight every time we had to leave. They did like the dual blu-ray players though

hey OP ,where did you pick up the wheels? I'm getting quote of 7 months wait time right now for the ET25 version.

Is there a reason for the F-load tires? it's an unusual choice and I'm curious.

7months sounds about right. You may get lucky like I did and hop on in the right time. Covid has made virtually everything impossible to build, ship and buy. Add that on top of a “kinda rare wheel” and you’re probably looking at longer than 7mo.

I carry a lot of sh*t and a lot of heavy people. That’s the reasoning behind the F rating.

Ah well, first world problem lol, it looks kickass, Army Green really shine on a Sequoia, FYI, Amazon.ca has green trasharoo for 50% off, it'll look nice color matched.

Do you have plans for the rear fenders matching the front? or vice versa?

yea I saw the green one but opted for a brown just for a nice contrast. As far as the rear fender wells not matching the front after the conversion, nah. It doesn’t bother me enough to do anything about it. Tbh I don’t even think they match right now when it’s the stock front. I’ve wanted to do the conversion to the sequoia for at least 6 or so years now and the topic always comes up in everywhere thread I’ve read. Who knows, it may bother me later down the road but for now, I'm totally ok with it. That is such a non factor IMO

Does it ever bother you that the front and rear wheel wells are rectangular/circular?
Someone mentioned it once in the comments of some Instagram post once and I absolutely can not unsee it, LOL!

Nope. The front and rear wheel wells of an actual Tundra aren't even identical either. Same goes for an unmodified Sequoia. Every single time I've read that in a post, it was from a hater or someone who tried to start the project and gave up. Sour grapes maybe, but to each their own tho. But nah, Doesn't bother me one bit. Some people say " put the fender flares onto make it look normal." Thats dumb too.

That does look good! So is the whole front end Tundra now? Front quarter panels and hood? I didn't know all of that would fit.

yup. Minor tweaking and slight fabrication of brackets. Some didnt do as much as I did to get things to be as close to OEM, and you'd never notice. I just waned a little more peace of mind.

Great looking build. I have a white TRD Pro as well and encountered the same suspension issues you had with the rear sag. when 88 rotors installed for me, i guess they didnt realize those OME are for landcruisers which arent as heavy as a sequoia. i just asked them to put an inch rear spacer until my dobs arrive which corrected the issue. we pretty much have the same suspension set up.

love the tundra conversion. are you looking to add a steel bumper? im thinking of it. was looking at tandem off roads and they specialize in sequoia's. great guys over there.

let me know if you found a solution for the gas tank too... get about 10mpg but the tank is just too small for this beast.

thanks man. Yea that was such a site for sore eyes to see the squat that bad. I didnt even want to drive it around. After an almost 4 month wait Dobinson's finally came thru with the 2.5inch rear coils. I'm sure if I didnt have my RIgd ultra swing my tree would be sitting pretty perfect, but the sag is minimal at best now. Nah I probably wont run a metal bumper. Never was a fan. I almost fiddled around getting a push bat tho just cuz I move crap and crappy cars out of the way and off the street often in my work vehicle. So handy however, I would never do that with the sequoia. lol.

Ive kinda given up on the gas tank at the moment. I know it can be done, but it will cost some serious coin. At the moment I've just succumed and folowed suit with all the rotopax fanboys and have a 4 gallon attached to my ultra swing. Not the biggest fan, but better be safe than sorry
