So we ran Gold Mountain on Friday. It was just me, @831Tun and @osidepunker . Other than the 2 obstacles, the trail was very easy and really short. We went over to try the John Bull gatekeeper afterwards so I don't know exactly how long Gold Mtn. took, but it felt like an hour or two.

The first obstacle was more difficult than the second one. There are 3 options you can take and at first glance, they all look about equal in difficulty. Alex went first and took the middle option. Do not try the middle, you will not make it. Most difficult part was his truck is so damn wide that he couldn't squeeze between 2 big rocks and one of the rocks got wedged between his bedside and slider. With some maneuvering we got him over in about 10 minutes. I went next and took the left route. I got over it pretty easily with probably a good bang on my sliders. Warren went next and we figured he might as well take the right side to complete the trifecta since we did the other two. We also got Warren over with no problem. The middle was definitely the harder route. Right side looked the easiest and left side was probably the most fun.

Second obstacle was a breeze. If you get past the first obstacle, this one will be easy. Just a little spotting and I don't even remember rubbing. Rest of the trail was cake.

That first obstacle is the only one you really have to worry about. Keep in mind, the 3 of us are all on 37's and we're all pretty experienced with this type of crawling. I'm gonna say it's going to be pretty difficult for you guys but if you have an experienced crawler with you, like maybe Paul or Mike to spot, it's very doable. Without a good spotter, you're not getting over it.

Good thing is, that first obstacle comes right away. And there's plenty of space to turn around if you can't make it or decide not to try. Very little backtracking to get back to pavement.

That's a good assessment @joonbug . @BestGen would be a good guy to have there for spotting and advice, Mike too would be good. I felt a little cheated 'cause the right was too easy with Joon spotting. Kinda wish I'd gone to the far left. It was fun playing on the JB gatekeeper. With a front locker I think I could've made it. Heck, if we had to we all could've. That story will come later. But we were just playing and it was easy for Alex to pull me back off the giant turtle rock.

If I had known the trail was that quick, I would've said let's go back down and try all 3 lines. :)

Gold Mtn is cake. Only two obstacles, neither one is very challenging.
JB is one looong rock garden for the most part.

All I have right now is the easier second obstacle too. Here’s another angle.

Doesn’t look like enough width for our tires?! :notsure: Got any pics that show that ledge and that gap from another angle, maybe near the driver’s door?

No matter how much we like to play, @Pinay, I’m not sure you’re ready to follow Spvrtan in the body damage category?

I wouldn't worry one iota about Pucker Pass. It's the Slot that'll be far more interesting...o_OIMG_0288.jpg IMG_0289.jpg

Mike @eccracer, do you know this Slot, is it narrower than that one bit you did in your Taco on our first Anza trip? ‘Cause I know @Grendel made it through that in his 3rd gen, no problem.

No. They were Jeep owners. They will never say that. But we did get the typical "Props to you guys for bringing them full-sizes up this mountain" remark. I think I've heard that atleast 20 times now from Jeep and Taco owners.
