    ******UPDATE!!!******
Its back! By popular demand! Last years Crab Flats Campout was such a good time, @Sunnier and I have joined forces to do it again! The date will be Saturday August 24th. Same as last time, we'll run the length of 3N16, which is ~26 miles iirc. This time tho there will be an optional run up White Mtn. for those looking to step up their game! The details:

    What: Crab Flats Campout II
    When: Saturday August 24th
Where: Crab Flats campground near Green Valley Lake in the San Bernadino Natl. Forest

We will rendezvous at 9am at:
Green Valley Lake parking area. 33271 Green Valley Lake Rd. 92341
    Head out at 10am.

To reserve a site visit: www.recreation.gov

    + special guest appearance by @Iron Man!:yay:
    (or maybe MartymanMcIronFly!:notsure:)
He'll be giving free rides around Big Bear on his back! :woot:

⚠️ the White Mtn portion of our run is optional!
The section of the White Mtn trail 3N17, BETWEEN 3N14(westend)and 3N11(~midpoint), IS doable by a stock 4x4. The White Mtn trail 3N17 section east of 3N11 to 3N16(eastend)is difficult and lockers/sliders are recommended. Are they mandatory? No. It's a public trail and you're welcome to attempt anything there that you're comfortable with.

Stop it, Daniel! I see you :spy: without :turtleride: (best I could find for 'committing').

This isn't hardcore but it's a damned FUN Fun Run!! A good long section of 3N16 is curvy with banked turns, and wide enough to see incoming traffic... so we can play a little. :mudding:
This was BY FAR my favourite Shenanigans route to date, based on actual driving!!

I hope you and A will make it up at least for the day run. As much as you loved Sedona, meeting people and hanging out, this'll be a good one to meet the Local you don't know yet. And White Mountain won't be for everyone; probably more will opt out than in, so if you do that with us, you'd get actual  off-roading too. :boink:

@Iron Man can you make these dates work... maybe if you get a new RTT in time? :p

@eccracer104, I hope you'll make it up, either to do the whole run, or just the Extra Credit run up White Mountain. I know you could keep me on the straight and narrow (or 'drivers tires on the left', as it were). Let me know if there's anything I can do to increase the chances you and B will come up.

    @nishibot, can you make this?!!

@Fiestee23 the part you missed is the banked, curvy part I loved; come back out and do the second half with us. It's not rough like that first bit you aired down for.

@Pinay I know this is the run you just did solo and your Momma's birthday is this same weekend..., but if a day trip works, we'll love to see you!

Now I gotta look up the @names for all you other homies whose Real World names have replaced your tags in my limited head space....

Y'all feel welcome to tag (y)our buddies.

@Grendel, I haven't seen you and your lovely family in too long. This is an easy, fun camp. I plan to bring my people; and will be thrilled if y'all come with!

    Whoo-hoo! :fingerscrossed:
Haha! We will MAKE time. I need to stretch the Hulk and see what we can do. Last time we started later than posted (those that travelled the same morning from SD were on time, but a few others not), but if we can get an early start, should be able to do both.

Plus we have time to plan. It may be we do White Mountain early, since it's kind of located that way, then meet on the 3N16 after....

I believe so. I'm thinking this time we split up at Big Pine Flats. Those choosing to do White Mtn. will head north on 3N14, while the rest can continue west on 3N16 to Crab Flats.
Edit: it also depends upon which direction we choose to run it. East to west easier than vice versa.

Hahaha dang called me out for bailing on the last run. Had my sons graduation party the day of the Thomas Mtn. trip but i made the Cleghorn one. Like you said, Yes T2S was for sure fun but the Gleghorn trip was nice to meet the locals.

I'll talk to Ashlynn and check the calendar for this August trip.

Last time and place I saw you Ian was Crab Flats last year, tryin' out your new ARB compressor. A lot's happened in your life since then. I hope you can make it out, so we can celebrate all the good stuff we're still enjoying! :)

(note to all: pinstripes are not available on 3N16, but I think possible on white mountain)
