Your Pioneer is a tried true HU and has more finesse like an iPad that "just works". These HU's are mid generation Android tablets attached to a HU base with harnesses frankenstein'd into our trucks. Sometimes there's problem solving to get things working right. It comes with no instructions and the knowledge base is actually in the Tundra facebook group, they've created manuals and every issue has an answer there.

The advantage is the Google Play Store is your world, whatever you want to install, whether Youtube, Netflix, Pandora, Spotify, SNES games, TomTom, Waze etc etc. And you can play movies and downloaded Youtube vids off a USB stick.

Looks great! How did you paint the buttons so that the light still comes through? I painted the dash as well. I haven't paint the android radio, or the steering wheel yet.

I HATE Plasti Dip. That stuff is crap. Vinyl or hydro dipping is the way to go.

I only plast-dip the chrome cup holder and chrome around the shifter, for the abuse factor. Duplicolor on the dash, and silver parts. I not a big fan of the textured look.

Yeah that textured look isn't the best. Ever tried removing plasti dip from a set of wheels that the person only did like two coats? I almost went on a shooting rampage lol

That looks great, keep going! Is your HU surround vinyl wrapped? Very clean.

I didn't paint the HU buttons, just the hazard one on the bottom left that had the red triangle. It stuck out like a sore thumb.

Dipped my chrome cup holder trim last year before I did anything else and it chipped so easy. Also, the fine sandpaper texture wasn't the OEM look I was after, that was the end of that. Peeled it off.

Went to Rustoleum primer/paint that bonds to plastic in satin finish and it has the same sheen as the factory piece above the glove box. Sprayed it from a fair distance with several coats like powder.

Guys...as a sugestion, DO NO USE PLASTIDIP AS A FINAL PAINT. Plastidip is meant to be pealable, so thats what it wil do. Good for a temporary solution. Also it looks cheap. Sorry for the Plasti fans

You probably read my post wrong unless you’re quoting me as an example, just to be clear, I have no PlastiDip anywhere inside or out.

Wow too shinny for me. I like the screen and the padded piece above the glove box

Tinted windows, swing cases x2, husky mats, LED bulb swap in and out, TRD shift knob, remote start, bed linex, tube steps, tonneau cover and more to come I’m sure..
Looks good l, I’m thinking about something in matte black also.

Well, I found this thread way too late. The carbon fiber looks great! definitely going to have to try once this plasti dip wears off. I don't think mine turned out too bad, but definitely can tell its soft and open to being scratched.

Had mine a year now and still waiting for this blinding of the sun people complain about. Living in Hawaii you would think if this was a real issues I would have experienced it.

Only thing I can figure out is I don’t have my windows tinted an that’s the reason for the reflection. Even with sunglasses on it would get me daily.

Anyone had luck taking these apart and painting them flat black to match the rest of the interior?

Many of us have done that. Go back on this thread and you will find many. I did everything. Front, doors and console. It looks good to me.
