The carbon wrap looks awesome. I would love to do this to my truck but am afraid to rip apart the trim pieces because of all the plastic tabs.

The chrome ring around the shifter can be removed and painted to a different color. I painted mine blue to match my accent colors. F0D2120D-01F2-4E39-8E63-4554C3DDCAA4.jpg
I decided to do my vinyl wrap while having the center console out of my truck. Made the vinyl install easier.

Plus I wanted to paint all my a/c vents black.

What did you paint those pieces with? Any type of primer or adhesion promoter used?

It’s a 2017. I wanted the black TRD shifter. Couldn’t find the model number for it.

See my post after it. I really enjoy the all black wheel, not peripherally distracting.

Surely with all the overlays and decal guys out there, someone could make an overlay for that little chrome emblem.

That looks so clean!!! Good Job!

Did you do the vinyl yourself? I want to do the center head unit U shaped trim. Can you please share what needs to be removed in order to take that large piece out? I am assuming the head unit of course but do you need to remove the trim located to the left and right of the U shaped center console piece? Thank you in advance.

Thank you! I did all the vinyl myself.
Yes I did remove the trim around the sides as well. Maybe there is a easier way to do it but I removed a good majority or trim around it. I figured if out as I went along.

That be cool yes! afaik the emblem does not pry off to dip/spray on its own. That said, removing the airbag is easy, takes a few minutes, 2 torx and 3 electrical clips, battery unhooked first lol. Especially if you have some black Plastidip around, 1/5 can if that.

I had the car audio installer do my vinyl- since they had the entire dash all taken apart anyway. I also want to install some subtle interior accent lighting - footwells/ cupholders etc. Nothing too intense. Anyone know of any good threads to read?

If you are talking about the three horizontal trim pieces top of glove box level, it looks very close. You will not see the difference. The trim around the radio is a PITB. I did not remove the glove box which I recommend.

So I am going to do the carbon fiber wrap on my interior. Any tips or advice on removal? Or just grab my plastic pry tools and go to town?
