Shooting in El Paso, Texas

So true. As we, the majority of good men and women, face evil when it props up....and it does...we have to remind that there is good and face down evil within our means no matter what it takes....the human mind is unique. It's one thing when you have a conflict with ideology like what we saw in WW2 and snuff it out with great sacrifice for example. A single human mind....not so easy. I have no answer for that.

I had no idea so many lives were lost and injured. If this was a hate crime....it was a hate crime against humanity. Too bad the pos was captured. At least Texas enforces capital punishment. I don't want to see or hear this pos's name again, but sadly that's wishful thinking....

 

Deinstitutionalization is the term.

The idea that "not all are crazy" just flies in the face of logic. No sane person would do this. As I said on the thread about the shooting last week in California, we have to identify and care for our mentally ill in this country. These mass shootings started at the same time Deinstitutionalization became a policy.

What we do not see is the health records of these shooters. I'm willing to bet all of them were on, or had been on, some sort of medication for mental illness.

 

There is a whole lot more of this type of violence going on now than there was when I was a kid and/or as a young adult. We didn't have any "social media" back then... Not saying there is a direct link, but you can't deny it hasn't helped spur this kind of thing. Most of these sick fukks have posted about what they were going to do beforehand or right before they committed their cowardly murders. It gives them a medium for other sick fukks to spur them on.

 

There are a lot of mentally ill people in this country, male and female.

People that do this are always male (mostly white) and full of hate for others that they blame for their problems.

I don't really think mostly white is an accurate description... there have been plenty of indiscriminate mass murderers that where not white. What about the black guys that were shooting into cars on the East coast a few years back... or the chick's in Forida who were killing people after they were picked up hitchhiking. Or the brown dude in Cali that was killing innocent girls? It is not that cut and dry. There are a lot more examples than these...

I said it in the last thread. The cowardly pieces of shit who do these kinds of things should not ever be named, given a voice or ever be discussed outside of the courtroom. Forget they ever existed. Mental health or any other causes aside, notoriety and attention whoring is a big reason they go for these public displays. Don't give them the satisfaction.

It’s devastating!!! I’m hurting for everyone affected by this act of terrorism in El Paso. My The Lord Bless and Keep them all.

This type of shit is fast becoming a daily thing in the United States. Our beautiful land is becoming the Middle East and other places around the world that are plagued by cowardice terrorist acts. It’s time for all this to stop.

I went to college in Huntsville, Texas. The Walls Unit is where all executions were done back before they went to lethal injections in the mid 80's. We rented a house about 3 blocks from there back then. The nickname of the electric chair used was "Old Sparky"... the street lights and other household lights near that grid would flicker when they threw the switch for a couple of minutes. IMO...the lethal injection is too clinical... we Texans need to bring back "Old Sparky".
