WTF is wrong with these people today? They should just go harm themselves. This Country needs the death penalty for these types of crimes and any other crimes involving weapons or injuries to innocent people.

Blaming video games is such a BS excuse. If someone is going to do something stupid they’re going to do something stupid. Video games don’t make someone a mass murderer. I’m 35 and grew up playing all your Grand Theft auto and first person shooter games. Neither me nor my friends ended up shooting people or beating up hookers. How many millions of copies of those games have been sold over the last 20 years? We don’t have millions of mass murderers running around because they played Call of Duty.

Maybe I should try and go be a walk on for an NFL team because i played Madden.

 

Lol....I believe same thing it's not video games .....its the fact that parents dont pay as much attention to kids now days beuase of parents being on phones to much or computers to much and don't dedicate more time with there families

 

Very sad. Some of these people are nuts, but most are not. They intend to hurt others. They are evil not nuts. Calling them crazy gives them an excuse. Evil exists, it is real, and mass shooters are filled with evil. Maybe this guy was nuts, but im referring to this type of incident as a whole. Very sad that so many El paso families will never be the same.

This is a breakdown of the fabric of our nation. Our sense of community has been apart, we live isolated lives often times and not as communities. So much of our society holds an us vs them mentality these days . The lack of 2 parent households, lack of traditional values, lack of religion, lack of morality.

Community has, for many young people been replaced by social media, which is FAKE. It is fantasy land which has been crafted by billionaires to changes minds and sell stuff. Further leading to feelings of isolation

Video games is a lame excuse. Think about it. Millions of kids play video games, how many of them could actually shoot a neighbor? Almost none. So to say video games are contributing to this is chasing the wrong cause/effect. I suspect that social isolation is a bigger factor driving kids to the video games. The social isolation also causes these people to not feel like a member of society.

There is a lot of research pointing to our highly processed diet spiking depression/anxiety...

It's all in the parenting.. Idiots shitting babies left and right for the sake of one orgasm. The majority of the population should have ended up in a napkin/towel.

 

I live 35 miles from El Paso, TX. Still a little shocked this happened.

 

You take a person's life....you forfeit yours....swiftly...and not painless....

 

Trying to boil it down to a single issue is intellectually dishonest and just plain lazy. The truth is, there are a lot of factors over time that come into play as to why someone eventually does something. A single event MAY have been the straw that broke the camel's back, but when it comes to mass shootings like this it's almost never the underlying cause.

 

True, most speculation post shootings are way off base. Let the facts play out. One thing for certain..IMHO.....the shooter is a fing coward. It's easy to prey on the defenseless.

Starting to become numb to this stuff. Just sad for all the families involved. Don’t know how you stop it either. Senseless stuff.

 

Each situation like this usually has a "root cause".....sometimes no explanation too. It pains me every time I see this happen.

 

I just guesstimated. You read responses to anything like this, and you get a bunch of “if only” and “all you gotta do” and “This happens because” responses.

I wish to Hell the cure for all of this was so simple, but it’s not. Like @Sas said, there are a ton of factors involved in getting us here. And guess what? It’s not all one side’s fault.

 

Yep, it's so easy to place blame on a tragedy like this. I can't fathom why someone would do something like this. There is evil in this world and once again we witnessed it again.

 

One of the reasons I left my great gig in AK was to come back to Colorado and be with my grandkids. I quit a week after the Aurora theater shooting and hauled my ass back here. Best decision I ever made.....

 

There is evil, but we need to remember it’s in the minority.

I’ve posted this before, but it’s accurate in my opinion.

 

Video games are a red herring. Been proven time and time again. That's a last century argument.

 

And parents on drugs or just not around.
