After this post was made i had swapped wheels and tires on my truck to some oem steel wheels and whatever tires were on it at the time and my truck ran smooth, that's when I officially knew it was either a tire issue or a balancing issue.

I got new agp rims and Michelin defender tires, got a shake at highway speeds. Had them balanced 4 times now still there. Don’t know if it tires or wheels.

May not be your problem, I had constant balance issues with Michelins. Find a shop that has a Road Force balance machine and will take the time to diagnose it.

If a road force balance fixes the problem would you have to do that every time you rotate and balance tires. People at big o says it’s the rims.

I racked my brain for weeks. Went through three sets of tires. Road force balances, alignments, tire pressures and anything else I could think of. New wheels solved my problem. I had two bent rims. Could barely see it, but replaced those and the issue went away.

I fought vibrations in 4runner for many miles and months and it was just lazy techs at tire shops that thought it should be good enough if machine gave a green light. Once finally got an old timer to run the machine, problem solved.

Got tires at big o, going elsewhere for a different opinion. Big o tires suck.

Exactly. The shop I went to had both machines. If the regular spin balance didn't correct the issue they would road force. Truck was driven before and after by the manager to make sure the shimmy was gone.. Small tire shop, been there for years, I underestimated their service, they'll have my business from now on..BTW, when looking for a shop that does Road Force Balancing, call ahead, some listed on the web site don't do it..
