Hey all. I bought my 21 sr5 a little over a year ago. Absolutely love the truck. Haven't done a whole lot to it yet but don't plan on much either. My number one complaint and the biggest buzz kill is the damn driver's side seat. It's got play in the mechanism where when I go to take off it feels like it rocks back about a half inch. Doesn't sound like that big of a deal but it drives me nuts. Toyota dealership says it's normal and more than likely a new one will do the same thing. I've read about others having the same issue. Has anyone had any luck with rigging a fix? It's annoying enough I've even thought about swapping the front seats out for an aftermarket set like Recaro or something but haven't looked into what that'd entail. If anyone has done that I'd love to hear about it as well. The seats just aren't that comfortable to me either so I wouldn't be heart broken swapping them out.

I don't think play in the seat is normal...the only time I've seen that in one if my cars was an old Jeep Cherokee...there might be something you could tighten if you take the x4 bolts out holding it in... I'm assuming they're not power seats, right?

The driver side is power. I'm not sure if the other side has the same issue because I never ride there. Definitely annoying.

Not normal at all, I have the SR5 with a power seat as well and have never had that issue. Seems like the dealer just didn't want to be bothered.

Appreciate the responses. Probably just need to go to a different service center or just tell them I want it fixed and see what happens.

It does seem the like bracket. The back doesn't seem to have any play in it but if I sit in the seat and lean back against it I can feel the whole thing lift up in the front a little. Bolts are all tight at the floor.
