That is really all I know. Ran the wifi update

Tutorial plays on start up. It demos the two finger swipe for dimming, dragging and dropping monitors to new locations, and how to change a monitor.

The main one is the fuel consumption tracking has been fixed and allows the fill up to be adjusted properly.

Each screen layout is individually customizable; before you picked one layout for all three and could only change the monitors tracked.

I noticed Ignition timing was on there which I think I missed previously. There is also a second ambient temp monitor that matches the dash readings closely.

Nice. I'm still thinking about getting one at $229. Not bad at all.

add to that...you can set alarms on each item

I do IAT max temp alarm @155 degrees - still gun-shy over the I/C relay
MAF - i have it ding when I hit 500 grams
trans temp will ding if I hit 210

That was a tough pill to swallow for me since I had three daisy chained (two SG2s and a SGe) at the top of my windshield.

The footprint is roughly the size of two SG2s stacked, but now you can display about 7X the info since you can swipe between 3 screens each displaying 9 monitors max.

The set up is what really sells it for me. Auto scan alone makes it worth it. Once you pull all the monitors the interface is super easy to use. Changing monitors and moving them to a new positions couldn't be easier.

My only gripe is the mount, the backing doesn't stick well to the rough case of the SG3. Rethinking mounting locations too, the stock mount doesn't articulate as well as other mounts I've used.

Can the Scanguage3 adjust for tire size and show calculated speed? I want a pillar/left dash guage that shows trans temp, calculated speed adjusted for tire size, and ability to read codes would be nice. showing speed via GPS would be a bonus. Haven't been able to find anything that does this. Checked the scangauge docs but v3 is just quickstart and nothing in v2 full docs

    You can modify the speed

I’m 1.5% off with stock tires

Anyone else care to chime in if this is true of all stock Tundras?

Tacomas are all off by about 3% when stock. A +1 tire actually makes the odo more accurate.

If Tundras are all roughly 1.5% ish off I’ll go with a 265/70-18 that’s roughly that much taller than stock.

    Thanks!

thanks all. seems crazy that techstream can't adjust for tire size or even on dash by user so all speedo/odo/cruise/fuel systems are accurate. Good to hear that sc3 can at least show real calculated speed. If it doesn't do what I want then time to break out some arduinos/lcds and make it myself!

Seems to me the real issue is determining the factory programming. The wheel speed sensor is supposed to have 48 teeth, so 48 pulses for one revolution of the wheel.

I see evidence that Toyota sets a universal pulses per mile value for all trucks. A number that works no matter if your truck came with 18s, or 20s from factory. My truck left the factory with 18s, currently it has stock 20s but the 2 stock tire sizes are very similar and my speedo didn’t change much if any. I think Toyota did this so all ABS computers that read wheelspeed can be programmed the same.

Yea you get a few % error but it’s close enough. This also explains why the guys with aftermarket speedometer calibrators can’t get an exact 1 time fix. They have to try a few times playing with it. The baseline isn’t perfect for 18 or 20, they are all some universal value in the middle.

I adjusted my CAN driven display based on gps and it’s very close, reversing the math to pulses per mile didn’t line up exactly with the stock 18 tire size like I thought it would.

Sounds like there are some really cool features with this SG3 that could make it worth the upgrade from my SG2!

now that the mileage is calc'ing spot on, I'm digging it.

    I know I'm repeating, but....

I like having the 3 different screens
    1. supercharger related stuff - AFR/IAT/MAF/Timing/TQ lockup
    2. Green screen - mileage related crap
    3. towing screen - trans temp/gear/lockup/IAT

I've got it mounted in the useless cupholder. the suction cup is in the cupholder...it works. still jury-rigging a mount using the cravenspeed mount.

    @ScanGauge

I just got an SG III and plugged it into a 2022 Tundra.

This is quite the upgrade from the II that I ran for many years.

After scanning for xgauges I found "Current Gear", but it seems to only display "1" regardless of gear.

Not really needed, but it would be nice to keep track of where it runs.

I upgraded to version 1.13 and it still only shows "1" sitting in the driveway whether in park, neutral, drive, or reverse. Haven't had a change to go for a drive (single stack driveway, and she who must be obeyed pulled in).

    Is this expected behavior?

2019. Mine shows Current Gear 1 while stationary like yours, but then reads 1-6 while driving. My bottom row of the 9x9 display shows Current Gear, Torque Converter Lockup, and AT Temp 2 I think. That's a lot of info at a glance. TCL seems delayed by a second or two.

Hey everyone, is the consensus that it’s worth upgrading from 2 to the 3? I really only use the 2 for trans temps when towing my boat so leaning towards no but I’ve read everyone loves the 3 vs their 2. Thank you! Enjoy your Friday's and weekends!

Does scan gauge have a way to connect a wide band air fuel ratio instead of the stock narrow band readings?

also what’s the best placement for the new scan gauge 3 screens.

    no...only reads OBD data.

I'm still trying to find the best place...I'm about to finagle the left hand side of my cravenspeed mount.

using the provided window mount is very good.

I believe this XGauge is likely to work for a 21' Tundra: https://www.scangauge.com/xgauge/toyota-lexus-scion-cansf-transmission-temperature-2010-alt/

Yea, the Auto Scan for Toyota's on the SG3 should find the Trans Temp along with a number of other things. If for some reason it doesn't let me know, but I think you'll find it's a real time saver compared to manually entering XGauges.
