Does the gauge tell you the actual number of gallons remaining? Seems like that would be useful since Toyota leaves a large buffer when the tank shows empty

I'd love to see logging capability in the future. Press a trigger button or user-defined stacked conditions, with ~30 second buffer before and after trigger. Internal storage or external micro SD, export to csv file. :)

I've not tried that monitor but under the "Trip" tab there is a "Fuel Remaining" monitor. I don't know what units it is measured in but I can test it tomorrow.

It does gallons and % remaining

    and gallons used

this is how I monitored the calc. It expected 12 gallons at fillup. I put in 15

There are a couple of possibilities. First, there's a Toyota specific parameter that can possibly report how many gallons remain in the tank. Currently the SG3 doesn't auto scan for this parameter (although it probably will be added in future updates), but it can still be entered as a manual XGauge:

    Fuel Remaining (Gallons)
    TXD: 07C021C8
    RXF: 446185C83000
    RXD: 2808
    MTH: 003200130000
    NAME: GAL

That XGauge code can be punched into the SG3 or the SG2 and if the vehicle supports that parameter it will work. Looking at the data I've gathered from Tundra's this XGauge should be supported at least back to 2014 Tundra's, and it's possible it's supported further back.

The next option is using the 'Fuel Remaining' trip gauge. This value is calculated by the ScanGauge based on fuel use, so if you always let the ScanGauge know when you've filled up your tank and the SG is dialed in well on your MPG calculation it's a good option to go with.

Finally, around the 2020 model year for Tundra's there's a standard OBDII Fuel Level parameter that reports the tank level in percent. If the vehicle supports this parameter the SG3 will detect it and display it as a gauge option in the 'Standard' gauge list. Personally my experience with this parameter is that it usually caps out around 90% and won't usually go below 10% even on a nearly empty tank. Still an option, but has those caps that can be annoying when your tank is low.

We have a Military discount. If you reach out to Orders@Linear-Logic.com or Service@Linear-Logic.com and let them know you need the Military discount they'll get you set up with a discount code.

Definitely something on our radar - down the road it's likely some form of data logging will be added.

    Good to hear!

Whatever this forum told me to do
    latest fill up....

    indicated 11.3 gallons used

    fill up with 16.3

I'm sure @ScanGauge is all over this....

sidebar...that's a 44% fuel variance. Which is "primarily*" caused by tuning for my larger injectors...now we see the effects of ecu tuning.

does this delta correlate? I'm using 650cc injectors what was the stock size injectors? 480cc? that would jive with the delta.

I still get 16.8 mpg (hand calc'd), so don't get lathered up over the variance.

*the Harrop has an affect as well...

But it doesnt automatically dim with the headlights and dash does it? I built a custom display for my insturment cluster and just read the CAN Bus signal for the headlights coming on/off, when the display sees the headlights come on it dims its self to 50% brightness. As soon as the headlights go off my display goes to 85% brightness.

Not that I've experienced. The two finger swipe motion quickly dims it though.

did anyone mount the SG3 yet?

I liked the A/C mount, but it's Africa hot in Houston, had to rule it out*.

    still pondering ideas.

*I sure miss the lower A/C vent the '06 sequoia had (ball vent).

My old one was velcroed to a special mount but I'm having adhesion issues with this new one that is using a magnetic plate.

Waiting on one more mount but it looks like it will be a toss up with Tackform or the Maclean (hasn't shipped yet).

Which app? There is more than one

Depends on what you are looking for and what sensors you can monitor with whichever app you are using.

This monitor is a lot smaller than a mini but a mini can be used for a lot more things and isn't a single use product.

This monitor also autoscans a bunch of monitors and handles trip related data as well, not sure what apps can do.

I really like the diff format for the 3 screens.

    i now have a:
    performance screen - AFR/timing/MAF/TC lockup/IAT
mileage screen - for old man driving - using the eco graph thing
    towing screen - gear/TC lockup/trans temp/coolant temp

Friday - I mount the thing permanently.
