I used Weaver stance when I started shooting pistols. Moved on to isosceles once I got into more active styles of shooting. Now I've gotten into the Israeli techniques as taught by Nir Maman. My shooting improved tenfold.

Long-ish video (great training info btw) but skip to 2:00 and you'll see his stance.

Haha. I know next to nothing about guns. The comparisons of the different techniques reminded me of that scene.

One of my coworkers named my truck that. My last truck was red like Iron Man, so he said the new one is War Machine. (From The Avengers, in case you’re not into that stuff.)

Out of possible 240 points? I think we do the same course if fire for our small arms quals. I'm a weaver guy and end up around 230 usually. Terrible with the m14 though. That thing is a beast.

We don't do points. If you zoom in on pic you will see they ate silhouettes with 2 circles....one center mass & one on the head. The targets in the pic are just practice and that's why you can see the circles....qualifying targets have circles on them but the shooter can't see them. They shot a total of 45 rounds during the qualifying round. on the 7 and 15 yd it is always....2 shots center mass & 1 to the head....that's where most of the rounds are used. the 25yd is all center mass.

you have to get a certain amount in both circles to qualify along with just on target.

That sounds way more awesome than what we do. More practical as well.

I've never understood why the stupid point thing honestly. you don't get points shooting the bad guy. it matters where those shots are placed

I agree. Ours is all center mass. 2 shots four seconds blah blah blah.

A little of this and a little of that.

That’s a great distance to shoot at, I love my 25 yard shooting. In my last class I took they had us out at the 50 yard line shooting my G19. That was no small feet (pun intended).
