:annoyed: That definitely doesn’t look good. I definitely don’t think it’s user error. I have the Apex, I think they were a total PITA to line up and even had to bend them into place by tightening up the bolts strategically, but definitely shouldn’t be off that much.

Hope they take care of you.

    Lots of shenanigans.
Thanks for sharing, brother! Keep us updated on how it goes. Hopefully you don’t have to drill into your frame. If that’s the case then I’ll probably steer away from RRW.

Mine were the same. I bought the build your own version, but the bottom mounting holes were wrong.

The amount of hardware the sliders came with it almost seems like they didn’t intend for you to bolt them to the bottom of the frame but only into the sides. The first thing I noticed is there was three bottom brackets but only 2 open holes on the bottom of the frame

I am very regretful that I ordered from them. I will never buy anything from them again.

If they did screw up anything on your order (holes etc) and don't make it right and 100% right or refuse to offer a full refund (shipping both ways), file a Credit Card dispute.

Hopefully yours will turn out better than the others I'm seeing here.

I know there was another member on here who had them installed I wonder if he would snap a picture of the frame where they attached for us as reference?

@Backslider if you have time do you think you could snap a picture of your sliders and how the holes lined up bolted to the frame?

Really hoping they don't have any issues. I was going to cancel my order but the day before I was going to they sent the shipping info. I have no luck with parts for this truck, When I got my bumper the company sent me the wrong one and then couldn't find my order to correct it. Lucky for me Paypal sided with me. The bed rack I got was missing a bunch of hardware. I didn't even bother to say anything just went to lowes and got what I needed for that one. Suspension company ran out of the bushings I needed. Its just one thing after another. Luckily I like the truck more then my sanity

It's not just you and not just truck stuff. It seems to be how retail works these day. They hope people don't notice or care.

I just ordered a cheap $25, Dial Tire Pressure with the hose attachment for easier readings. It came with no hose. I contacted the maker directly (per Amazon) and it was basically an "oops, Amazon must have sent the wrong one. Are you willing to keep it if we credit you $1.50". Nope and I told them that. They are sending me another unit (hopefully with hose this time). But if I had settled for the $1.50 or not even contacted them, they would have gotten away with it. I was fine doing a full return but wasn't going to accept 1/2 my item for $1.50 savings.

Now if for some reason RRW does screw up and offers you 50% off and you are happy with that, then take it. If they say "oops, will you keep them if we give you $20". Don't do it, unless you are happy with the end result. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

The tundra has had the same frame for YEARS!! There is no way mine is different. It is a 2015. Right in the middle. So I can't be the only one with issues.

Like I said earlier, this is the rep that RRW has in the Tacoma world for sliders. I’d just go ahead and slot the holes in the sliders to match the frame and drill the bottom hole through the frame. Just make sure you paint anything you drill. These are Toyota frames after all.

It can be done....but why should people have to?

If they are marketed as bolt on, no drilling required, they need to change the design or change the instructions/selling feature of them. I for one would not be impressed if they said "no drilling required" and then I had to drill into my frame, which is still under warranty.

People shouldn't have to and people should stop ordering sliders from RRW. That being said, drilling a couple holes now that he has the sliders in hand is going to be less time (and probably less money) than trying to get a correct set sent out or get a refund and have a new set manufactured by a different company.

FWIW I had no issues installing WKOR sliders. holes lined up properly, correct bent following the frame. Nice Powder coat and sticker with brand instead of cut into the sliders. Easy install imo. Great CS.
Often it's worth paying few bucks more and have peace of mind. Hope you guys issues get resolved.

I understand what you are saying....but

If they are advertised as No Drill, Tundra and don't line up....it shouldn't cost him a cent to send them back for refund or replacement. All of those costs should be covered by the vendor who makes a mistake. Considering they are close to $1000 or more after shipping and taxes, people should have to settle or drill holes if they aren't expected to.

Hopefully he doesn't have any issues and they bolt up and work perfectly.

RRW was quickly on my "do not buy from" list, from when I researched Rims. So I won't have to worry.

Absolutely agree. They were amazing to work with and crazy friendly when I will-called them at their site.
We need a thread that is all “no buy”. All vendors that put out sub par work/products or have shady customer service. RRW, and a few others I can think of.

Before anyone drills into their frames, it may be worth drilling into the RRW sliders. I’m not sure if it would work but it may be worth a shot. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable drilling into my frame. And for those that haven’t received their packages I would strongly consider refusing the shipment and getting a refund.

granted I don’t own any of these but it seems like too much of a headache.

Hope my last post didn’t sound like I was being a dick, it wasn’t intentional. I really hope everything works out for everyone. I think if I already had the sliders shipped to me, I would just figure a way to install them safely. Returning those sliders and expecting to get something better from the same company is not probable in my eyes. A little ingenuity and they should be just fine.

Man this is pretty disappointing to hear... I knew they had a sketchy reputation with Tacoma sliders, so I guess this shouldn't come as a surprise.

I look forward to hearing about how RRW deals with these issues. I completely agree with others that drilling new holes in the sliders would be preferable to drilling the frame

Nah, I agree. I wish that there was an official Don't recommend to buy thread. I think it would save loads of money for members, I mean that is the whole point behind this forum is to provide advice from past experiences.

I haven't been here long enough and don't have anything to add to it personally, but maybe someone could just start one in the Vendor Review section...with some rules and guidelines of course

    Vendors you do NOT recommend

I just finished reading your thread, completely unacceptable. On the positive side, your sliders look great! Still wouldn't be worth the hoops and ladders that you had to go through.

Yeah, sucked. I used a plasma and cut the bottom tab off that did not match. Then added about 8" to the length at the rearward position. Used more DOM and put a solid cold drawn rod inside so I wasn't depending on a exterior weld only.
