Same here. 100% it's what I want, but I'm not about drilling into my roof right next to an airbag....

It’s a snugtop rebel. I am not sure what you mean about things not lining up. The Prinsu camper shell rack has feet that can go anywhere to account for the rails on the snugtop. If you mean the height of the 2 racks not lining up you just need to add spacers to the feet of the camper shell rack.

Honestly I was worried about this too, but you have a good 1-2” from the holes to the bag. You would have to really screw up to hit them.

If there's room to screw up; I'll find a way to! haha
That is still my all-time favorite roof rack, even if I have to pay someone to put it on.

That’s actually a picture on the previous owners truck, I don’t have a cap. It was just an ARE or some regular old top though... I’m surprised you’re isnt lining up.

The cab rack mounts to your drip rail, so it mounts directly one the edge of the rack. AB5BBCA1-F09F-4054-90E8-9924754CFF7E.jpg

My shell’s factory installed rails are more towards the center of the shell. The Prinsu feet can mount anywhere side to side on the shell rack to account for different configurations.

Does coachbuilder still sell this rack? I really like this one but I'd do either one row of lights or no lights. It makes the truck look even more armored.

That roof rack is coachbuilders first gen rack he made. It is all welded together as one solid pc. His new rack has the cross bars and side plates. I don’t believe he does the rack shown in your picture anymore.

I bought it second hand. So I’m not sure if he makes it anymore. But you can always ask!

I was going to do the esp box before my truck totaled I never understood why there was no
Storage under the seats like they had done before in past years. I agree they would have sold so many racks and rack accessories if they had actually added mounts in the roof. Maybe in 2021

I went with the modular Coachbuilder rack. You can mount it through the roof without having to remove the entire headliner, it's modular and very strong. And David can paint the side skins in an OEM Toyota color.
I really like the lower profile look. 20190324_152521.jpg

Actually, you only need to remove the interior handles and hooks at the edges by the doors. That allows you enough space to see where your drills holes are and to attach your mounts. Trust me, I was hesitant to do it at first, but it's actually much easier than you think. Even with the airbags right there. Just be sure to use a drill bit stop. The roof
    20190324_152749.jpgmetal is not very thick.

Your roof rack looks great! I know David has sold other flat mount roof racks but yours is the first I’ve seen pictures of. How long did your install take you? Did you have to cut the rain gutter channel?

Took a couple of hours. You do need to cut the rubber channel inserts to fit between the mounts once it's installed. It actually takes a while just to screw the rack together once the brackets are installed, lot of screws to drive. But David does an incredible fabrication job and everything fits together perfectly. It's not a difficult job, but I do have some pointers about installation if you decide to get one.

Thanks but I’ve had a coach builder rack for a while now. Just curious if you cut your rain gutter channel during the install.

Yes sir, it’s a ARE Z-Series Camper shell. It’s a great setup and very handy to be able to strap long things like kayaks or long lumber up top.
