Ending statements with "ya know?" or "right?" or the response "Yeah, right?"
Standing "on line" (I think they only do this in NY)
    mixing up "then" and "than"
    "anyways"
"to die for" (trivializes those rare and precious things truly worth dying for)
    "whatever"

Hate every variation of that word. I've had inmates call me that. I don't allow it bring said to me or anyone i work with or around. If i hear it said that individual receives some sort of punishment/ write up.

Two that I hear quite frequently:

    1. Realitor (it is REALTOR jack wagon!)
    2. Nucular (Nuclear. Noo - clee - er). We have had several presidents who have missed this one. I hear it almost everyday here.

And then a few more for the Colorado folks (I grew up in Colorado - and it bugged me when I lived up there)
    3. They pronounce Buena Vista like "Byoona Vista". :annoyed:
    4. They pronounce Salida like "Sal-eye-da".
    5. Poudre is pronounced Pooder up there.

There are a few more that I am not thinking of.

I'm Canadian, I never say "eh". I don't know anyone around me that does. In fact, I was on vacation in the Caribbean and someone from Brooklyn heard me talk, asked if I was from there, I said, no, I'm just drunk.

These ones drive me nuts! The other one that's annoying is then and than.
Than is comparative. As in, "I'd rather have steak than chicken."
Then references a point in time. As in, "do you want to go now or then?"
The other thing I've noticed a lot lately is ppl using cliches incorrectly. I was watching sportscenter and the athlete being interviewed said, "I had their best interest at hand."

Than and then. There, their and they're. EXpecially and eXscape...there aren't X's in these words. The incessant use of the word 'whatnot'. A few from WI... 'yous', 'er no?' 'Thisaft', 'nort' and 'is it'. Statement, "I'm going to the store" response "is it". "Yous headin' up nort thisaft, er no? But to say it like a north eastern wisconsinite you have to say the words with an O in it followed by an I.

I, on the other hand, love to do this, as well as mix metaphors intentionally. I always look for the response to see if it is noticed and acknowledged.
Example: I guess we’ll burn that bridge when we cross it”
Unfortunately, the case you cite, was most certainly not deliberate.

Nothing wrong with the first. Everything wrong with the second. LOL.

I actually worked with a young guy (17 y/o ish) that would use braap as an expression of afirmation.

Me: "All right man, have a good weekend"

    Him: "Fo sho dawg! Braap!!!"

    :der:

It was summertime. No snow. No sleds. No reason to braaap. Fuck the braap. :smack:

"Braaaaap" is a motocross term. Nothing wrong with two moto guys saying "Braaaap" when talking about riding or whatever. Especially if it concerns a 2 stroke bike. Damn snowmobilers took our "Braaaap".

When people use "nothing" instead of "anything". i.e.- "I've never seen nothing like that."

"I seen this truck the other day." - OMFG. I want to hit you in the face with a chair.

And then there are things like this...

    Hahaha....

I grew up racing 2 stroke mx bikes and mx racers would often make dirt bike noises "braaap" while explaining what happened before we crashed or how we got the holeshot, etc. Somehow the phrase took off and people use it for more than describing their bike...

    https://youtu.be/BD2_Yb3WAt8

Brah, I do say "brah", but always in a joking manner, brah!

    Haha

My Lord that video is funny. So true.

If you have a couple fighter pilots in a room, tie their hands behind them, not one word can be spoken. Trust me....
