Damn, hopefully changing the tires work. But I would just try changing brands first and not the size. If it doesn't work, then they can change size after. Isn't that why you changed the tires in the first place, to go bigger? And if you drop size now, you'll never know if it was the brand or the size. And you'll never be able to run a larger size.

AH HAH, the theory behind that does make a lot of sense. If I can make a quick suggestion, don't be afraid to try a newer tire that may not be 300-500 a piece. I can remember when the Toyo's were 160-190 a piece and now they are wildly expensive. I personally love my Courser MXT's. these badboys have given me over 30K and I have plenty of tread life left... and I beat the shit out of my truck. I think next I'm going to try RBP's tires and see what they are all about.

Good point Joon, that's why I had them change the order to the BFG although they will be about a half inch shorter. One of the reasons I went with the exo's was the size.

Yes, I believe that you have A bad tire. Very likely A bad belt that is not holding its size with pressure. I am betting that a new set of the same would eliminate your problem.
That said, I don't believe I would buy a budget tire. I am a firm believer that in the tire world you get what you pay for. It has proved true too many time. That and tires are too expensive to regret your purchase. If you have an out and the tire shop will put a BFG etc. on I would jump all over it.

Yeah that would really suck if you went through all this shit because of one bad tire.

Funny 'cause I went from Toyo (they make nitto) to BFG and then the problems kicked in. I think it's sensors.

Well, I bit the bullet and swapped for BFG ko2 285/65/18. Didn't get around to checking the size in inches till I got there. I was driving when the guy called to say that was going to be the best choice in a size shorter. I thought ok the ridge grappler is 33.5 no bff is only 32.5. Ok, that's probably a safer bet. They look great, kinda small. The truck drives way smoother. Trac did go off once but not nearly as bad. Will drive it some more and see. They did it for the same price, but I had to buy the stupid road hazzard. I hope the nittos didn't damage a sensor.

I've heard that a $300.00 Nitto is considered a budget tire.

Lots of guys on here running Nitto without any problems. Maybe I got a bad one and discount didn't want to admit it.

I think discount tire would have rather replaced one bad Nitto tire than give you all new BFG's.

My biggest complaint is how small they are. They honestly have worn great i have about 32000 miles on them and no issues and i bet ill get probably another 10-20k out of them. I am just ready for something different. Screenshot_20170312-121509.jpg

They are only 275/70r18. I installed them when the truck was brand new and stock lol

if $300 is the price for a budget tire, that people are willing to say is a budget tire, I'm a fucking poor poor soul.

How big is the bfg in inches? I drove the truck and played with tire pressure a little after work. The do feel way better, but the trac is still doing the same shit, although it isn't as bad. There is one corner that I had been on countless times prior to the nittos that it never went off on. So I know for a fact that there is still something wrong. Now
That was supposed to say I've never heard that.

Yeah, my old hooptie dodge work truck has mastercraft Wildcats on it. They've been great, nice smooth ride, quiet and awesome in the snow. They would look a lot better if my boss hadn't had them mounted with the white letters out.

Yep, turning in the same amount in either direction. I put the airbags on after the tires and it was already acting up and no change with the bags. So it's probably a waste of time to take them off to see if maybe they are causing the inside rear lifting up. Maybe get the cradles so the axle can droop freely, need them anyway unless I wind up dropping the whole truck back down to fit the tires.

I wonder if the nittos screwed up the sensors? Doesn't make sense, as far as I know they are just telling the computer how fast each tire is spinning. This crap is frustrating as hell!

@Sean266 when you broke your speed sensor, what happened? Did the trac stay on or was it easier to set it off? Or anything else?

That's what Dave at Lexota said. Even if I had just barely stretched one of the sensor wires it would throw a code and lights would be on. Someone on here suggested that I run techstream again but on a nice smooth straight road to see if it shows all four turning the same speed. Slim chance one is sending a false reading that techstream isn't picking up on?

Here's what it looks like now, lifted with just 32.5x11.5 I can feel the difference in height when I get in and out and the whole truck is visibly lower. 20170317_183626.jpg 20170317_183704.jpg

:annoyed:I'm trying to look at the positive side of the small tires. Better mpg, better acceleration, better towing. Less wear on the entire drivetrain, brakes and suspension.

Maybe I'll drop the truck down half an inch and toss the step bars. Maybe throw a sequoia front sway bar on it. I think I'll do that next. It's when the nose dives. Reduce dive, reduce the tire speed difference.
