    The resto defenders always look amazing but you routinely see the ones like Arkonik or EMC sell for far less than their original price on the secondhand market. Makes you wonder just how reliable and easy to live with they are….

    I got an email from toyota today that says “The all-New 4Runner Is Almost Here”…

    …and I started to wonder if it’s “almost” here because it’s stuck in 6th gear somewhere, haha.

    I joke but I would hope that there will be a reliable version of the 4R when I retire.


    For the near-term, I hope the issue with the new Tacoma’s transmission is fixed and not carried over to the 6th Gen 4R.

    I’m very happy with our 5th Gen though and it would take a noticeable upgrade in build quality
    and features before I give it up for the latest one down the road.

    One of the best all time vehicles we had was a 2006 T4R Limited. We did love it...and it saved my wife's life. So there is that.

    The rear end on most mustangs is pretty 'live', but if you know that and respect it you're fine....

    A few years of some of those vettes though... they lull you into thinking it practically drives itself, then as soon as you get a little cocky w/it...

    Test drove a couple cars today.

    First up was a 2020 Shelby GT500.

    So this car is legit. I have been in only one car more powerful than this one. I got to launch this car from a dead stop going on the highway. Once I caught traction going from 2nd to 3rd gear this car launched. My wife said it pushed in her chest like she was wearing a two size smaller sports bra. The salesman was just as excited.
    The different modes and setup on this car is amazing.

    Unfortunately this car was ragged pretty hard. For 78k and 20k miles...no thanks. Wheels were all beat up, puncture holes in the Shelby seats, not totally sure the rear bumper hasn't been off, plenty of tire rubber all inside the wheel wells.

    Now if one comes around like this in the low to mid seventies in great condition (just seen this exact car sell on BAT for 72k) it will grab it up.

    This was a favorite. The color is amazing.

    We drove the exact same car in the lot but with the automatic. We preferred the 10 speed auto. It shifted faster and moved around better. I would buy this car....then put a whipple on it.

    They also let it sit in front of sprinklers. (Look at front). Wonder if that’s been etched into the paint or glass at all.
