Good little machine. Griots customer service is great. Had one replaced free of charge. Love their products.

Yeah, nothing at the dealership is going to help.

    And a brush?

Iam hoping that the scratches might be the plastic from the brush

Avoid the dealership at all costs. Most (not all) dealership detail departments will do more harm than good. They'll throw a glaze on there, full of fillers, and tell you they took care of the scratches. One wash, or until the glaze dries out, and the scratches reappear. Since a lot of paint marring occurs during the wash phase, there are several methods you can use to mitigate the possibility. Theres the 'two bucket method', but I prefer using multiple wash mitts so a dirty mitt never goes back on to the paint. There's a guy named Russell who has a Youtube channel called Dieselworld, and I use the same multi-mitt method he does. He does a lot of reviews on soaps, and while he can be a little annoying, theres some good stuff to be had in his videos.

Agree, stay away from the dealer. I asked them to not even wash mine when I bought it.

I ALMOST did yesterday. I’ve been eyeing them for a while. For once, I talked myself out of buying something I didn’t have to have. I have a Torq one and a Harbor Freight one, and haven’t even used them much. I was able to convince myself the quality of what I have isn’t the reason I’m not using them.

This helped me take out a 5 inch scratch on my Tundra a couple of months after I bought it.

We’ve been lucky so far. It hasn’t hit a dog mess yet. I have a coworker that happened to though.

Lake country Orange or White pads for light scratch removal and then follow up with the Black pad for polishing and finishing.

If you would like to stick with Griots pads the standard Orange is for correction, Black for finishing/polishing and then Red for sealants and/or wax. Keep in mind the pads effectiveness is matching it with appropriate compounds, creams, polishes, sealants or wax.

I would also recommend getting a smaller backing plate (3 and/or 5 inch) with a 5/16 thread stud. IMO the Griots polisher paired with a smaller combination will act and perform better than the 6 inch backing plate with 6" pad. The orbital pad spin using a smaller hook and loop backing plate is much more effective and for tight places or curves the smaller pads will out perform the larger pads especially for the lower level of griots polisher.

If you sign up on auto geek for for emails, you get 15% off right now. puts it around 139 for the heavy duty model with 25ft cord, or 127 for the standard model, only difference i see if length of the cord. I own enough extension cords to make up the difference, to not need the HD.
