Mine I have 7/8” pins and have no trouble at all getting them in or out. Paint maybe? I’m sure the harbor freight ones don’t have very strict manufacturing process. Your pin might be tight due to that reason?

Yeah that was exactly it. I had to sand down the powder coating on the one pin. Definitely not going to keep these d rings very long. I'd like to find ones a little bigger. I also had to paint these myself so I doubt theyll hold up in the winter 20190815_182029.jpg 20190815_182312.jpg

Nice! They look great! The gear America ones I think will be just a little bigger but not overwhelming large. Plus the no questions asked lifetime warranty has me sold. The also donate 10% of proceeds to children’s hospital. Like I said hold up and I’ll review them when they come in. Because demon hooks are way way too expensive and ppl will want to steal them lol.

i just dont know a place for $100 shackles in this world. thats insane to me. i love the look of them but thats ridiculous. i also like the RBP ones but again, those are $75. ill probably go with the gear america but im debating going to a bigger shackle and just using a small cotter pin. but like you said, i dont want a set thats obnoxiously big.

the ones i got now look pretty good i think but i think they look a little small. id love to find some at least the size of the OEM tow hooks. whats your personal opinion on the size of the ones i got? i cant wait to hear about yours

You have the size I have now. In pics it looks great but like you said I feel like in person they are a tad small. Not by much though. So I’m hoping these Gear America shackles that are slightly larger than the standard 4 ton shackles will be big enough without being HUGE lol.

RBP sells a similar one for $70 EACH! still too high. i think ill be happy enough with my GA ones. keep me updated and ill be sure to do the same!

Nice thing about demon brackets is they have a locking pin. But that would be annoying out on the trails. I don’t go often but I do go trail and usually stumble on someone needing help for some reason. Usually it’s on the way back out

The size of them is larger. Not a bigger “D” by any means but it’s much beefier for sure. I don’t think you can get “huge” d rings because majority of them are a standard ish size. Maybe if you go to a tractor supply shop could you get a larger “d” size. I think I know what you’re after now. I think how these are more stout makes it look a lot better than the others. If you go to a bigger “D” I think it might look funny.

You have to remove a shackles to use it right. If you have em hanging on your bumper that means you have tightened them up way too tight so someone doesn’t steal them or they don’t fall out. Which means you don’t use them. Which begs the question of why they are there. Store your shackles in your recovery kit, and if you don’t carry one, you don’t need shackles! Then you can buy cheapish ones instead of 100 dollar ones which is assanine.

I use mine. I have them hanging down. No locks and they are not too tight to take off. They don’t have locking pins like the $100+ ones. They are not cheap but they are deff not the pretty aluminum locking $189 ones. That’s about asinine to have because it would be a pain in the ass the unlock and lock out on the trail. If ya have the pretty aluminum ones that cost 6x the amount of “cheap” d ring then imo ya bought them for looks never to use lol. I have them hanging and I also keep another set of d rings in the truck with yet two more sets of soft shackles. I payed $35 for gear America shackles that I’ve already used with no problems. It’s “cheap” because it’s made from steel and not aluminum lol.

Here’s the updated pic with the Gear America d rings on. I’ve been slammed and keep forgetting to update. Along with the feedback for Morimoto with their xb headlights.
