I've been working nights so I haven't reached out to him or uninstalled the unit. No change to how it functions however. It seems anything over 30ish yards and it wont signal the truck. OR if I don't have a direct line of sight, say my office to my truck (this PC and a wall between me and it parked, 20yards max) it won't work.

Maybe the antenna isn't fully connected? Where did you mount your antenna? I mounted mine in the upper left corner closest to the A-Pillar. I haven't had any issues.........yet. :fingerscrossed:

The antenna is mounted on the inside of the dash opposite the end cap you remove during install.
Darn thing worked great for a day or two.

Mount the antenna on the windshield and you should see an improvement in range

That seems like the problem. Mount it up high on the windshield and try it again.

That should work, make sure the wire is clicked in. Mine is on the upper left corner, drivers side. The passenger side or drivers side shouldn't make a difference, the main thing is it is up high with no obstructions.

Moved my antenna to the lower front corner of the front window, where the brake tag goes and it hasn't helped.

Just got the compustar drone and prime R3 installed everything works great. Only issue is the auto seat settings. The drivers set goes back when you turn it off but doesn’t go back to its settings once the key is inserted after remote start.

Im looking at the evo fortin now. Theres a guy in NY. Look up warmcarnow he has all plug and play sets. For the 14-17 he has it for like 160 shipped. And the 18 with the H key is 250. But he said hes waiting on a T harness thats mass produced to drop the price down to 170-180. Maybe we can do a group buy on that

First post here but had to chime in due to the initial same questions regarding all the vendors and makes. This was one of my first mods and i was initially intimidated by the write up but after watching 2 you tube videos i was ready. I purchaced the $160 fortin evo remote start from warmcarnow on ebay about a month ago. Love it. It came with all of the t harnesses plugged in to the unit and wires wrapped nicely. He also includes a positap for the key sense wire. That was the hardest part but once you get in to the plugs underneath your dash tapping in to the keysense single wire is a breeze. If you were on the fence about this dont be. You can do this. Its easier than i thought and warmcarnow is the cheapest vendor selling the evo with all harnesses.

Which drone app works with the Fortin Evo from warmcarnow? And does it come with the THAR-ONE-TOY2 T-Harness?

Anyone running the MyCar app to start the car?

Sorry, late to the party as usual. I have a Viper on my 2004 Tundra with remote start. Model 7145V
$199 installed at Best Buy and it's been flawless. I asked the installer to not have it chirp as I didn't really care about the alarm and alarms annoy me anyway.
Lights flash when locked /unlocked and remote is awesome. Really just wanted the remote start.....

I’m glad I read this thread. Was contemplating buying the same remote start on eBay. After reading through the posts, I’m glad I held off.

I'll second this. Got the same one from eBay. Super easy install and you can even call or text the owner if you need help. This went on my 2016 Tundra.

Got this as well but completely lost looking at the install instructions. Tried to find a video but the half hour long thing I found is anything but plug and play. Maybe a pre PNp setup?

@Berettafan It is actually pretty easy. Just watch the video below from "WarmCarNow" vendor. I know it sounds complicated because he is showing you how to splice the wires but with the plug and play harness kit, they are already spliced for you with the T harness. Just use the video as a guide to how to take apart your dash and locate the connectors. The only wire you actually have to tap into is one below left of the steering column and he gives you a Posi Tap. His diagram should show you how to locate all locations of the connectors. He is also available by phone and text if you call him. I hope this helps.

Thanks. Can this be installed when I'm already using the OBD port for side steps?

Wonder where hes located... my local dealership had this installed on my tundra. I hated having 2 fobs though so I also purchased an Upgrade kit. This compustar kit is super reliable. I've had many vipers and this one is way better

On these systems that use the key fob to transmit, what is the approximate range you can get when just using the fob? How is it from inside buildings, etc?
