Okay I did this install back in May. No issues and great customer support. So simple to install. I spoke with him on the telephone and he said he installs these and models at several dealerships. He said he would sell them directly for $200 if he got 2 or more orders from the tundras.com group.

You can say that Jim spoke with him a few weeks back about this.
Would be nice if he gave me $50 back:D

Not bad for the price. Does it have the door override or does the truck shut off when the driver door is opened?

It doesn't shut down when opening the door only stepping on brake pedal before inserting key.

Just call him directly, cheaper than Ebay plus he can answer any questions better than I.

Think it depends on the remote. The one shown is 800' according to the compustar website

Guess it depends on line of site also, buildings/structures etc. I've had it work more than 800 feet.

Give him a call or go to his Ebay account and type in 2015 Tundra, see what comes up. But I think it should.

Can you use your factory key or do you need an extra fob?

Looks like the fob from the kit is just the start/stop. You would still use your factory key to unlock/lock I'm guessing.

Just talked to Chris for a while on the phone. Called me back about 2 minutes after I left a message at his shop (Speed of Sound in New Hampshire). Really nice guy, seems to really know his shit, spent about 30 minutes explaining everything on the phone to me. He can do the basic system for $200 which include 2 1-way receivers with 800' of range. They make a kit in house that makes it an extremely easy plug and play installation, you just have to drop the panel below the steering wheel which is very easy. It can be also set up to run off the regular FOB, but in order for that to work there is 1 wire that has to be cut. Completely plug and play though if using the Compustar FOB. Sounds like he does a ton of installs and sells a ton of these PNP kits to other Toyota dealers across the country. Don't know about a group buy, but if you call him and order it he said he would do it for $200. Upgrading the FOB to a 2 way would be extra, depends on which model they range from $85-$160.

What happens if you insert the key and turn the truck on without stepping on the brake? Does the truck stay running?

yes, thats the only way to operate the truck after remote starting without it shutting off; key the ignition on. you can't shift with out stepping on the brake. if you step on the brake before keying the ignition it will shut off. theft prevention i assume.

Dumb question what's the 2-way do that the 1-way doesnt? Just give you feedback on whether it's running or not?

Yeah, the 2 way shows you the status so that if for some reason it doesn't start you can hit it again. I think the range is better on those too so you could not be in line of sight and still start it
