Probably would go with white. Easier to strip and repaint in Barc. Red....

And, just for fun, go to KBB and type in a Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Tundra as 2008 models. You'll find the Tundra holds its value MUCH longer than any other. That was a deciding factor for me...

So far the lowest bid I have from a few dealers is $40,594.00 with $3000.00 in rebates out the door for 2018 2WD, SR5 & TSS package... I'm waiting on 2 others to beat that price as they said they could... Thoughts??

Yes, that's how I got all these quotes. Still learning and how to get this to work for me. I'm thinking it's pretty close to a good deal after all the rebates. My credit is pretty good and should get a good interest rate. I'm wondering if I'm hurting myself with using the rebates as knocking part of the price down.

Well, you could start looking at 3/4 diesel pricing. It would make the Tundra look like a bargan. Lol

Last time I looked, 75k. My lord

I'm glad I paid the fee to buy the "fighting chance" reports for Tundra before I bought my 2017. Do it for the 2018 and it'all list the dealer price for every truck configuration, package, and add-on option. Figured out what I wanted and what exact mark-ups I'd offer for each, knowing I wouldn't be insultingly low. Got a very good deal.

    http://www.fightingchance.com/

Hint: real costs dealers pay are well below the "invoice" costs.

I'm going to offer a slightly different opinion. If you don't need a 5.7l then why not a 4.6l? I personally do just fine with a 4.6l engine. I have yet to find a street it wont drive down. I dont tow heavy, and I dont off-road. I get it, bigger is better but seriously buy what suits your situation. Unless you want to drag race, a 4.6l 2wd drives down the road just fine.

P.s. I'm also confident in the size of my pecker :crapstorm:

I used TrueCar to buy my Platinum. The experience was very low pressure, but allowed me to get quotes from 5 local dealers and compare without a hassle, but everyone said they would beat the others. While the rebates were the same, each dealer had specific addons that affected their first price (on a Platinum model there are very few options) but they were all very close in price and would negotiate away the cost of addons. I did not look at other models; determined that the Platinum was for me. What it boiled down to for me was color because most of the dealers only had one on the lot and they were black or MGM; local dealer had a Silver (no offense to anyone, but had black before and never again - too much cleaning/waxing needed to keep her looking good). Several of my neighbors have silver trucks...

I arranged my "VIP" visit, drove the Silver and negotiated my final deal and ended up with the Silver Platinum. I waited until I had everything sealed up on the Tundra and then went to work on my trade in (2014 low mileage Silverado). I went into this situation with the goal of getting rid of my "headache" multi-recall Silverado for a comparable Tundra and came away with a reasonable deal. Ended up with $6K off sticker and $5K out of pocket after the trade in of a 2 year old, low mileage Silverado LTZ.

PS. I always buy the biggest V8 because I intend to keep it a long time and needs change over the years. It didn't work out that way with the Silverado, but my last Tundra (2001) had 125,000 miles on it when sold. Probably should have kept it...

I bought my truck in 15. I searched up to 500 miles away and called or showed each dealer the lowest price I found and asked if they could match or beat the price (I'm that way with any expensive item I buy.) I found a dealer that could but had to go to another dealer to get the truck, we then split the extended warranty price.

My thoughts if you have to use the 4wd once.....its paid for itself. Whether you got stuck, or going through the snow.....well worth it. I thought about the smaller engine for a second, but having the extra power is worth it in my book (plus resale value....everyone wants the big engine and 4wd)

I also feel a 4wd is the only way to go. For me in Ohio a 2wd would be like putting tits on a bull totally useless. We pull a boat all the time and around here the ramps are on a incline and have seen many people fight getting there boat out of the water with a 2wd. As far as 5.7 I would rather have the power and not need it than not have it and need it.

I bought mine right when the 18's came out and nobody had them so they where not ready to deal. My local was not coming down to what i wanted to pay. One weekend i was in Richmond (next state over) and drove by a dealership on the highway. When i got home i contacted them and got a quote that was below what i was trying to pay at my dealership. I contacted them and said "you have 4 hours to get back to me and match this or im going to go with them". The called me within an hour and ordered my truck.

Richmond is mid Atlantic Toyota and NC is southern states. Mid Atlantic had cash back on 18's and southern states only had it on 17's which is where a lot of my savings came from. Check the next state over especially if they are a different distributor

I told someone the other day that Ford is the reason I now drive a Tundra and a couple of Tacomas before the Tundra.

If you don't mind, what was the final out the door price? And what packages did you end up with?

I kind of find Ford doesn't live up to the hype by talking to owners. Frankly the mileage on those ecoboosts isn't that impressive. Sure it's better than any pickup in it's class, but not all that much. Twin snails are a little scary for long term ownership in my opinion. Of course most Ford customers seem to trade up as soon as something new and exiting comes out next year, especially around here.

"I wish my truck had a smaller engine" said no one ever. There are a lot of threads on this site explaining how to get more power out of the 5.7 - tuners, headers, superchargers not to mention the 'beast mode' buttons. I don't think that most folks ever wish that they had bought a truck with less power.

I think this is probably the next thing I'll add to my Tundra, but I'm just wondering if it affects the sound/road noise in the cab? I've heard some people say it does and some say it doesn't, so I'm just wondering what your experience is if you don't mind sharing?

    1. My sister had an Expedition with the Triton V8 that was horrible. That vehicle scarred me
    2. I had a Mountaineer that I couldn’t keep brakes and ball joints on - that scarred me
    3. The fords look good, but I always see people getting the worked on

    I Did..& lovin' it
I specifically searched for the 4.6... it does everything I need in a truck.
& when you smash down on the pedal.. It moves
maybe not as fast as yours but it moves

Stupid question. Is there a certain models the truck can drive in? Like when I had my f150 I had sport mode and it changed up everything in the way it drove. Does it always just drive hard? I'm so not used to that
