Maybe next week when you bring you truck in for warranty work you can ask for a Tundra for a lender car. Then let me know what you think.

P.S I still think you are a SPY.

I traded in a "15 F150 with the 5.0. The fact that my rear end doesn't sway like crazy was the main factor for me. Though the Eco has an amazing torque curve, i worry about some of the engine's components giving way. I'm hearing the timing chains in some of those Eco's aren't holding up too well.

I've had several Fords and still have 2. I actually bought the Tundra on lack of options. I hated the idea of an ecoboost, finding a crewcab 4wd with the 5.0 on a used lot didn't seem to exist, and I refuse to have a Nissan, Dodge, or Chevy. So I thought back through the 25+ vehicles I'd owned over the years and the ones I worked on the least were Toyotas. I'll give you the radio sucks, the fuel tanks on the 2013's are too small, and it took a leveling kit to make it ride at a decent height, but it'll pass everything but a gas station, the back seat is comfortable and reclines, and the only work I've done to it was the same stuff I'd done to a Ford because they sit pretty low too. Also keep in mind those recalls when you buy one. My Ranger has had the airbag recall since July of 2016 with no idea when they will have parts. I also have an 03 Lightning with 42k miles on it. Both lower ball joints have lost all the rubber seal around them, I wanted to blame it on the age of the truck, nope that 2011 Ranger is the same way, has 33k on it. We've had 2 Camrys bust 250k easy, a Corolla bust 285K, and a Tacoma at over 200k. I know the Corolla and Tacoma have the original transmission [autos] with only fluid changes their whole life. I'm done with Fords, I need something that last, doesn't need constant repairs, or parts that fall apart sitting in the driveway. It's sad when you carry your own backup vehicle with you to the shop. Pulled my Ranger behind the Superduty so I could leave the Superduty for them to sort out a rear brake issue. Unloaded the Ranger off the trailer and hooked the trailer to it and came back home. The wonderful dealer, kept the F250 for 2 weeks and found nothing wrong, but left the lights on killing both batteries. The mechanic kept dogging the CAI, the exhaust, and every other mod on the truck, but his fix for the dead batteries was just drive it after it took a cart of batteries, a jump box, and one new battery to start it. I drove it 12 miles before the rear brakes started acting up again. Great job, they did.

I've got a friend with 2 Fords. A Tundra owner is a Ford drivers best friend. Off to the mechanic we go....

My brother plowing the track off last year, he saved it. I would have let mother nature have it back.

This summer I was on a trail and encountered a Ford Ranger that was buried in the mud.. It was seemingly abandoned. We had pulled off near it to eat some lunch and that's why we noticed it in the first place. During our lunch the owner and his brother arrived in a brand new F150 Ecoboost. They hooked up to that Ranger and his meaty AT tires just spun in the dirt. I offered to help, hooked up with my 5.7l Tundra, put it in 4h, and it came out with virtually no effort whatsoever.

This is why Tundra > F150.

I had a 2001 F150 and lower ball joints went bad at 40k. Called a Ford mechanic and he said I was lucky because a lot don't make it to 25k. Last F150 I ever bought. I have been in a vehicle that had a lower fail at low speed. I can only imagine if one broke at 70.

Pretty simple.....I wouldn't trust a Ford or any other of the big 3 with my family inside. Nothing comes close to reliability and resale. With that said, I don't care if I'm getting 10mpg, it's worth it. (With my 2017 1794 4x4 I'm getting 16.9mpg)

I'm currently looking at a white crewmax with black interior with the TSS package that blacks out parts of the truck. The guy I'm working with says it will be available on Christmas day. I'll have him and some other dealers hash it out for my services to get the lowest price.

This is the way I see it. Imagine the Ford is a pile of fresh dog shit on the side walk, and the Tundra is a 100 dollar bill sitting right beside it. Which one will you pick up? It's pretty simple, really.

I'm late to the party on this....Anyways.....imagine aluminum burning, a Ford body tech trying to repair bed dents because you dropped a bag of girls softballs onto it, fix or repair daily, not a chick magnet= better than RAM...but still not even close to being up to snuff to a Tundra...

My last car (2006 Hyundai Azera) was amazing. I for one was surprised. It was a new model in the introductory year. All I did was change oil, fluids, tires and brakes.

I loved that car, but always knew I'd end up with a truck. Every family needs one. Couldn't be happier with my Tundra. Almost fell for the fancy crap the domestics include, but I wanted a reliable full size truck, not do dads and fancy crap that will eventually break and need to be repaired / replaced. Tundra for life!
