RCI skid plate issue

As did I. The hardware they include doesnt even look like its zinc coated. I also recommend buying 1 1/4" fender washers instead of the small washers they send.

 

Well coming up on my first oil change so I went ahead and ordered my plate, hopefully it comes with everything after reading all this.

 

Just put it on. You’ll be fine.

 

I started to attach mine with the extra nut underneath the plastic. I bought extra hardware to do so in stainless along with quarter inch fender washers. Ended up just doubling up a quarter inch fender washer and nut, then straight to the skid plate.

I got it all worked out. I ended up buying some hardware at home depot. If you'd like, you can pm me and I can provide you recommendations on the hardware that is better for your company's tundra skid. Below is an example of the route I took.

 

Mine arrived today and your correct, im one of those that have the missing hardware, I didn’t get the nylon lock nut all three pieces and the retaining washer, went to home depot and they closes at 6 now. Im glad I got the all the spacers for the drop, Besides that im digging my new skid plate. Gonna wait now till the weekend to install.

You’ll want to replace the bolts for the oil filter door. They rust immediately.

Replace all bolts with stainless. I believe the bolts that I bought for the fender are 1.5", the ones they provide are to short and you need to bend your fender to bolt them down. Throw away those small washers and replace them with SS 1.25" fender washers. I also used the spacers provided for the fenders so the tabs dont bend

Ordered on the 1st of April, arrived on the 9th. Got here pretty quick.

What’s the deal with lack of hardware with these guys

 

I bought the engine, trans, and tank skids, plus rock sliders. All of them had complete hardware.

 

Just took inventory of the hardware and Im missing the (3) 1/4" Nylon Lock-nuts.. Sucks because everything is closed today and this is install day for me. Oh, well, might as well source all stainless hardware and do it once next weekend, weather permitting.

Thank you to the OP for starting this thread because if not for it, I would have just dug in to the install and would have had to put everything back together due to a lack of hardware to install it.

I did get 5 rubber spacers though so Im not sure what thats all about.

 

Same here, thats what i was missing. The 5 rubber spacer are for the differential drop kit.

 

Funny thing is that I didn’t add the differential kit to my order so who knows what’s going on there. Just put together a list on Lowe’s website to convert all the hardware to stainless and zinc coated. $25 bucks later and Im confident I'll be all set during install. Got a couple of different size retainer washers because I think the ones they supplied are too small.
