Def use accessory power. They will be on anytime you have the key to accessory or turned on. They will automatically shut off when you pull the key out even if the switch is left on. This will protect running the battery dead.

Thats helps a lot thanks guys! Will just look for an empty location in the under hood fuse box that is accessory powered and add-a-fuse there. Will post up a DIY thread whenever I tackle this project later this week! Thanks again for all the helpful info fellas!

There are also some options in your under hood fuse box if you want them on anytime the truck is running/key in accessory position, if you don't want to run your power wire through the firewall grommet into the cab fuse box. I like using the add a fuse/circuit myself - normally don't like hacking into my wiring if I can keep from it. The lights pull very little power, like .6 watt each. So having three of them is only like 0.15 amps total. I wired mine like 15TRDPro did his into the "tail" fuse in the cab. Wiring to that location will power the LED's whenever your light switch is in the "parking lights" or "head light" position. If I were to do it all over again, I would probably power them from the under hood fuse box with an add a fuse and they would be on anytime the truck is running. Also, doing that would keep you from having to pull up the driver side scuff plate sill and driver kick panel to access the fuse box under the dash. I always have a hard time getting the kick panel back in correctly but that is probably just me.

How do u get that kick plate back? Been fighting it since my NSV light install. A trick..?
