Can you take a few close-up pics of how you mounted them and wired them up?

I removed the hood buldge first, its held in by 3 10mm bolts. On the bottom side of the hood there are 3 even spaced holes that the led's will fit it. I used the nut that came with them as a spacer and purchased a pack of matching nuts to secure them from the top of the hood. I wired the red+ wires together and ran them through the hood, out of a hole that is next to the hood springs and the grommet on the drivers side fire wall, and added a fuse and tapped into the "tail" circuit. I used a self-tapping screw and grounded the black-to a support brace behind the hood buldge.

yeah, pretty cheap mod and I think its a very cool look. Cost me less than 20 bucks, and that included the 6-pack I bought on the way home from autozone.

Really interested in trying this mod. Just curious, why did you tap into the fuse that says "tail"? Would that be for your tail lights which would only come on with headlights or does it have continuous power? I would like them to be on at all times like the drl's. I suck with electrical stuff any way you can post a pic of how you did the power wire?

you could tap into the "AC" fuse, they would be on all the time.

Nice, thanks man. May try and use a "add-a-circuit" that I saw suggested on another site. What all supplies did you need to tackle this project? Extra red and black wire, the LED's, extra nuts are the obvious ones. I guess a regular heat shrink wire connector would work for connecting the 3 positives up to an extra piece of wire, but what did you use to tap into the fuse? Never done anything like that and unsure of the best way. The add-a-circuit seems legit and easy enough.

I used an add a fuse, ran it through the grommet in the firewall. also, I did use heatshrink on all of my connections. I had the mod done in less than an hour.

Looks great! Thanks for the info!

Wonder If i could just quick splice em in to my drls or something else thats on all the time the truck is on and avoid running em all the way into the cab to the fuse box?

    Anyone done it like this?

I don't see why not, the led's don't draw much power.

There are also some options in your under hood fuse box if you want them on anytime the truck is running/key in accessory position, if you don't want to run your power wire through the firewall grommet into the cab fuse box. I like using the add a fuse/circuit myself - normally don't like hacking into my wiring if I can keep from it. The lights pull very little power, like .6 watt each. So having three of them is only like 0.15 amps total. I wired mine like 15TRDPro did his into the "tail" fuse in the cab. Wiring to that location will power the LED's whenever your light switch is in the "parking lights" or "head light" position. If I were to do it all over again, I would probably power them from the under hood fuse box with an add a fuse and they would be on anytime the truck is running. Also, doing that would keep you from having to pull up the driver side scuff plate sill and driver kick panel to access the fuse box under the dash. I always have a hard time getting the kick panel back in correctly but that is probably just me.

Nice, thanks for the info guys. Gonna try this mod real soon. Now to find a diagram of what my options are in the under hood fuse box. Seems like that would be the best option to keep em on all the time.
