Did front brake pads/rotors today at 91570 miles. I was down to under 1mm on those pads. :eek2: Went with OEM - can’t complain about performance.

I did misplace the new “W” wire clips I had bought and one of them isn’t in gear shape so I’ll have to swap those out when I have the wheels off next time (probably next weekend to do an oil change).

Also installed the RCI Fuel Tank Skid Plate today (reach out to Colton at Hotshot Offroad). Pretty easy install since my truck has the straps with the studs on them for the plastic TRD “skid”

Thanks for the pics and installation approach.

My opinion is once the Fogster is experienced, it becomes a requirement for the Tundra. Especially if you have high output fog lights like the DD SS3 MAX.

I’ve been looking through your build and finally found this bumper. Your attention to detail makes me look at myself and step my game up.
Thanks for the pics and details throughout your build. I’d like to get a winch but for now my focus is this bumper in the front.
    Thanks for sharing

Question: you said you hit a Yahtzee but the only damage I saw was from the dear. So what was the Yahtzee??
    Be well

Honestly - that was so long ago I don’t recall.

I'm prepping to swap Platinum mirrors (adding power folding and puddle lights) onto my 21 TRD Pro along with swapping in the non-memory mirror switch. Following your post above since it's a similar situation and truck, but trying to compare my N5 connector to what you show above.

See pic below for N5 at my driver side mirror. Unless I'm reading the diagram wrong (which is highly likely) I don't seem to have wires 13 and 14 for Auto Dim -/+. Any idea why my connector would be missing these - your diagram would indicate they should be there from the factory. The colors also are different than the diagram states, e.g. Pin 2 is Y-B vs W-B. How do I make sense of this? Or should I just add the wires as needed?

See the column in the screenshot you quoted that says “present”? The Y are present in the connector, the X are added by me, and the grey/black are not there and not added by me during that install. Pins 13 & 14 are the ones that aren’t there and that I didn’t add.

As for wire color - that is precisely why I always say to use the pin-out before using wire color. Over time/different suppliers the wire colors can change but the pin-outs should (99% of the time) be correct.

I’ll also warn you that the platinum mirrors do not have their BSM circuit in the same place as that pinout shows.

Drilled a small (1/8”) vent hole in the inner “baffle” in the washer fluid reservoir - gained almost a quart of additional capacity.
Also switched out the original wiper blades finally…

Do NOT recommend these wiper blades.
I’ve got a spot and 8” wide and 6” tall near the middle of the windshield that the passenger one simply doesn’t contact the glass at all. Similar issue (but smaller area) on the driver one right at the point it goes vertical (so the far left of the windshield). That and the drivers side one is about 1/2” less coverage than OEM, while the passenger one is over 1” less coverage.

I've always heard that OEM wipers are about the best we can do on our trucks. Of course, I rarely use mine and it spends most of the time in a garage (until the 86 kicked it out), so my experience may be not applicable to you people with weather.

    Yeah
This was the first time I’ve changed mine since new (92k miles).
Bought them while picking up some other supplies - I’ll be ordering factory replacements today.

I’ve had good luck with the PIAA silicone ones. Don’t order the wrong ones as I did. They make 2 kinds and only one works for our wiper arm connections.

Yes, OE are the best in rainy climates as well. I hated chaging out blades on the '08 every freakin' fall in vegas, but they'd bake in the summer. Thought the OE was just crappy rubber or something, but nope... they all rotted every summer, but everything else didn't work in the rain or winter either...

Now that I'm somewhere w/a decent amount of rain 200+ inches a year :rain: same/same... the only difference is I'll be entering my 4th summer on the orignal set this year and they haven't dry rotted yet :D

There was a warning in an old post somewhere about factory blades as well. Apparently Toyota switched to another manufacturer at some point, and the quality dropped.

OEM parts, and a quick word from a member on the non-original part, if you don't already have it:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/wip...u-using-do-they-all-suck.115735/#post-2979706

I replaced mine last year with Bosch Icons, and they're fine, but I'll likely get OEM next time.

powder coat or a lineX type coating

I am on the fence between a type of lineX and powder for the replacement rear bumper.

I say lineX type as most of the shops here use something else since Line X corp got gready with their distributers

Getting it powder coated to match the rear. Guy I know that does a bunch of custom work has a local guy that does a good job. He throws my stuff in with one of his “loads” and charges me next to nothing (usually trade for a little computer support or a twelve pack of decent beer)…as long as I’m ok with his specific shade of satin black.
