Did you do control arms too or just left the stock ones

 

Are you running the stock control arms with your PC lift?

 

I did light racing. Bc they look cool. Didnt need them. I had worn busings, good excuse to upgrade.

 

Did you not have the stage 2 the entire time? I thought you said you bought yours with the lift on it. Is it absolutely necessary to get UCA'S or will it be ok with what they send?

 

But you're saying I don't absolutely need them for right now?

 

Ok just wasn't sure if I should just bite the bullet and put on aftermarket ones or not. Like we had talked about before I don't plan on wheeling all that much.

 

Or I guess what i should be asking is if you guys think I should put UCAs on if I'm lifting that much? Or will all the parts that come in the kit do the trick for me?

 

I have the BDS 7" lift with the coilovers. I kept the stock arms and they are working great

I left the stock UCAs for now...it's a new truck. They should last a hot minute, even at the angles they're currently seeing. As soon as they go, it'll be a uni-ball UCA. I ran Camburgs on my FJ, but I was forced into that $700 decision because the stock UCAs were shot and wouldn't hold alignment. But for now, I'm good

 

Ok. I've been asking around. I was hoping I could get away with leaving stock for now. Only 29k for miles on my truck

 

Yup. Pay now...or pay later.

 

I guess the way I was looking at it was...spend 600-700 bucks on UCA'S but if they weren't necessary and my stock ones would work I'd put that money towards a BullyDog and a hypertech speedometer calibrator

 

@Bear and @GNTundra are either of you guys running with programmers or isn't it affecting you guys enough to warrant getting one? You're both on 35s right?

 

I'll have a programmer and a TRD intake for sale in a few weeks. Putting on a blower.

To answer your question I did notice a nice increase in power with the hypertech. I'm rolling 37s with 4.88s.

I spent the $ on ucas because I would rather be safe...and I needed bushings.

 

Any codes?

 

Hyper tech was the first mod I did. Same week. Haven't done the speedo calibrator yet, and I'm not if I will. Stock tires had me indicating 2-3 mph faster than actually measu ed by GPS. Now the 35's have me indicating 2 SLOWER than GPS. It all balances out. Haha. Hand calculated MPG is coming in right at 16.2...can't complain. Still way better than my FJ

Another question for you guys..shocker I know... did the pro comp stage 2 lift come with a carriage bearing drop kit? The list of parts on their site isn't the greatest but I didn't order it through their site either so...?? If it didn't is it something I should get?

 

Looking at the truck, it appears a carrier "drop" is incorporated into the front carrier, so no need for a separate drop kit

 

Ok thanks. I'm not 100% on what a carriage bearing drop is. Just had read something about it on a different thread. You know what your rough height is with the lift and 35s?

 

Overall about 7.32" including the larger rubber

The carrier drop is literally nothing more than extended carrier bolts and some spacers.

Haven't measured. But it still fits in the garage!! (Height, not length). Couldn't do that with the FJ due to the roof rack and monstrous HIDs on top

 

It fits in car washes too...no issues
