Ah the side profile in that pic makes that terminal seem smaller somewhat looking like a tweeter connection.

Yes, the terminals are female in the plug/harness.

The connectors at the mirror are 064 terminals (smaller). The mirror itself are the male terminals, and the door harness are female terminals.

any time you see a connector name that is two letters (like NJ1) that’s a junction connector…like the ones in the lower kick panel.

From the link in my build thread:
    upload_2024-7-22_20-34-54.png

Connectors starting with N are for the driver’s side front door. M connectors correspond with passenger front door. J connectors are instrument panel area (most of the entire dash).

Look at the pictures with the wiring pinout info to see what the connector looks like compared to the ones on the truck.
    upload_2024-7-22_20-37-28.png

I realize that reading these diagrams is second nature for me, so a lot of this is pops and buzzes for others. Just trying to help clarify where to find the information.

Also - you do not HAVE to route your wires through the junction connectors like I did (the Boost wiring harness isn’t set up that way anyway). I chose to only to make it look at OEM as possible in my installation.

Finally, you can buy the terminals direct from Toyota using the part numbers I listed if you only need a few. Expect to pay $5-$8/each for them, but they will come with a pigtail of wire already attached so you don’t need to attempt crimping. Obviously I buy in larger quantities to justify the $30 per order shipping from japan on the ones I linkes

Got it. Then I need 2 x female 064 terminals per side. Thanks!
I am a wiring novice, so even though I read that post several times, I was apparently looking at the wrong connector. But now that I know the right parts to order, I think I’ll be good. In our emails back and forth today, Boost Auto said this thing is a circuit breaker. Seems obnoxiously large to me, but clearly I’m no expert. :notsure:

For anyone following along, I looked up the Toyota part number listed above for the 0.64II female terminals that I need to plug my power fold wiring into the door-side mirror connector harness.

I found some on eBay in Texas assembled with about 8” of wire. $28 for four of them (sheesh), but hopefully shipping will be faster than from Japan.

    Mirrors are still great. HOWEVER…

    1. The upper mirror on the passenger side shakes. The lower mirror does not. Has anyone else resolved this issue? It used to be slight. Now it’s more than slight and kind of annoying.

    2. If you go for the power fold and reverse spotlight options, I would suggest wiring your spots to their own switch. They flash briefly (just like your OEM reverse lights in the rear) as your shifter passes from P to D and vice versa. If you fold your mirrors in before putting the truck into park, they flash in your face into the cab. Haha. I’m definitely going to change this.

    Weird...

You haven't had yours that long, hit up Boost and see what they say.

I don’t notice shake in mine. Not saying they don’t have a little movement, but it’s hard not to have something with the arm hanging out that far. I don’t notice any shaking at least.
I still much prefer these over the OEM I had on my 2008.

My driver side power fold stopped working. It started to extend slowly (intermittently) then retracting also started malfunctioning until it finally wouldn't extend. Had to manually push it out. I reached out to Boost Auto and they sent me a new circuit breaker. Replaced and I thought that fixed it, but nah. Now they're giving me 30% off to buy a new set.

Eh. Only got 2 years out of these.

Did Boost have any other suggestions? I’m going to start putting mine on this weekend with powerfold and your post is now making me second guess it. I’ll have to keep my original mirrors stored away now in case these don’t work out. Bummer.

    Nope.

My buddy's Boost Auto mirror (driver side too) also quit on him and they flat out didn't even offer him any support let alone discount. He purchased his at the same time I bought mine.

Mine have been on for 2 years without issue. Our options are limited and in general Boost is great. Keeping your stock mirrors seems like a good safety net, and if you happen to have issues be sure to let Boost know.

Pretty much how I looked at it too. I'll go elsewhere for my next set of mirrors.

I bought mine from another member, but they were unused and we have the same truck, 21 TRD Pro. He had the paintable caps, and I was debating about painting them to match, Lunar rock, but now that I see there is a chance of them crapping out, I’ll just go with black. Easier to touch up, and less money invested.
