Please don’t over torque your oil filter housings

    Ah, okay, had to make sure. I do agree all vehicles should have it under the hood. My 2nd gen tacoma and subaru outback wilderness spoiled me forever with that.

    Just used up my ToyotaCare dealer oil changes this year. Housing was tightened to spec, but the circular plug for emptying the filter cartridge was way over-torqued.

    Been thinking about the retrofit that allows the use of spin-on filters for my next change to get away from the housing - cartridge design. Anyone done that mod?
