Maybe I should bring my respirator home from work if we still have any P100s in the warehouse...

I don't think that you can be too cautious. Overkill is highly underrated, but that doesn't mean it's not overkill. I fall in the middle on most of this. I am avoiding everyone, but I am not afraid of getting sick. I am more worried about making others sick. What if I am an asymptomatic carrier? I'm not willing to risk hurting others just because I am low risk. My biggest worry is that I could make my Mother ill, because she would not survive it. So, I take responsibility and I keep my distance. I don't have masks or anything though.

It's all lies. It's all fake news. Nobody is dying, they're faking it. The doctors, nurses, CDC, WHO, and the supposedly "dead" people have all been bought off by big pharma and the government. It's a plot to establish a one world government, eliminate cash currency, steal our guns and make subservient proles of us all. The end game is to have a willing populace to eventually serve our alien overlords who will arrive after we've all been turned into cattle. We'll all be then marched off over the edge of the world, (it's not round btw) in order to be used as pawns in the alien military industrial complex

    Did I miss anything?

I thought it was either the media and liberals' last ditch effort to get rid of Trump or biological warfare by China as retribution for the trade war.

I’m not sure why anyone would attempt to reassure people, at this early stage in discovery about the origin, transmission, and rates of Covid-19, that the virus is not passed via breathing in aerosol in closed environments. Here’s yet another recent case of numerous people likely infected by person(s) that appeared healthy, singing together for a relatively short period in a large room in Skagit County, north of Seattle:
    https://apple.news/AKfluvkIfTsyYvcJxqfWMvg

Here’s the same story, accessible if you don’t have apple:

Good info. Hadn't thought about how singing could project it more. It doesn't contradict anything in the video, though. If you watch, right about 1:45 into the video the doctor talks about aerosol infection. "Prolonged contact" being over 15-20 minutes in a closed space, and aerosol is a viable way to get it. Now, the choir was in a large space, but they were singing, and they were there for 2.5 hours. Your article specifically states that singing likely increased the ability of it to be transmitted through an aerosol path. Couple that with communal food, chair set up, and (cynic here) the possibility that after the fact the choir may have claimed better cautionary measures than were actually used, and I can see how it spread.

That article does illustrate really well just how infectious this thing is, regardless of transmission paths. Whether it was truly a full blown aerosol spread due to long exposure time with a large group and singing, or if they talked up their hygiene measures after the fact is moot. This virus is HIGHLY infectious and we should be cautious, but we don't need to panic.

I noticed that to, why are we the general public not wearing mask in the states when we are out and about? I have not see any directive on this.

I agree 100% but I see no one wearing them or us being advised to do so. When you look at pictures from overseas everyone has them. All were being told is to stay home, which is not going to solve the virus problem itself that's just a stop gap measure to not overwhelm the healthcare system. This thing is going to have to run its course unfortunately unless they get a vaccine out quickly. I also agree with others that have said it that this has been here longer then were being led to believe.

Found another video that adds some info. Full disclosure, I only watched about 30 minutes. I think he addresses the masks in the first 5 or 10. Was this morning so I don't remember exactly. Please, lets try to keep politics out. I don't want the thread locked or people getting banned.

I saw that too and a few others who all say the same thing.
They make it sound like scientific discovery or something?
Clearly if we had enough we would all be wearing them.

And sorry if I crossed some line but that one is funny on many levels.

He actually says that a mask wouldn't really help you to not get sick, IIRC. The masks are more to keep you from getting others sick. I could be wrong. We have medical pros in here. They can correct me if I am misinformed or my brain is being dumb.

No I am easily confusing different people at this point too.
But that is my point too really I am not buying that the mask would not help at all.
Do you think they just like the look in asia?
The officials there are unanimous that they are shocked that we are not all wearing masks.

I'll admit to responding before watching the video but I think part of it is there aren't enough masks to go around so it's better for those who are sick or those who are treating them to get the masks. And if you're not sick, a mask won't help if it doesn't stop you from touching your face.

I heard many experts Today admit that if there were enough that everyone would be wearing them.
I would sure rather have one on and not need it than find out later that we should have had them but couldn't.

Yeah it’s because we don’t have enough. The CDC has changed guidelines during the course of this. Lowered guidelines to say we don’t need masks; decrease the % of alcohol effective in sanitizer; etc. It’s to control panic, but won’t control spread of the virus.

If you have a mask, wear it. If you can keep Lysol, spray your mask with it, front and back, whenever you’ll have time to let it dry. Store it in a paper bag, not plastic, when you’re not wearing it.

If you have extras, please consider donating them to medical personnel or first responders Unless anyone in your household has pre-existing health conditions, they will stay isolated, and you will wear them at home to keep them well.

Funny you should say this, I shaved my beard (and my head) last night. Nothing to do with the virus, insomnia and boredom, but I did do it.
