Nice! I just got a lunar Rock Pro to from Warrenton OR (Lums Toyota) at 54K with beadliner and "TUNDRA" letters- OTD with Oregon Tax and 4 year reg was about 55K.

You gotta go outside of CA to get one. That's what I had to do.

Toyota of Bellvue (and Kirland) were not very easy to work. I called just about evey dealership on the west coast that shows that they had a lunar rock on the lot or in transit and I talked to both. They both wanted over msrp, $3k and $5K i believe. Toyota or Eugene, Bend, and Beaverton also wanted $2-3K over.

Hermison OR was willing to sell at MSRP but the truck sold as I was talking to the sales person.

Toyota of Olympia would take MSRP but the truck was in Transit and they would not take a deposit on it. A member on her ended up buying that one.

Just about every Texas dealership I called would sell at MSRP over the phone.

Warrenton, OR was the one I bough it from. I called and spoke to Ralph. He said someone was looking at the truck and would call me if they backed out. I assume it would be sold. He called me back about an hour later and said the truck was available and that the previous guys didn't want to be "pressured into buying it" since I had called. He said he could discount me I think $600 so I pulled the trigger after about 3 weeks of searching.

This is the situation i was in. I was willing to buy at MSRP but not a penny more. I was also only willing to buy one with only the spray in bed liner. A lot of dealerships would charge you $2-$2k over MSRP and say they'll add paint protection, tint, and side steps for tha tprice but you're paying so much more than what those parts cost.

I would suggest calling Warrenton/ Lums Toyota in OR and talking with Ralph. I did the paperwork over the phone on a Tuesday, flew in that following Saturday and picked it up.

This! A lot of dealerships in Texas will take sell at MSRP over the phone. if you're there and the truck is on their lot maybe they'll take less?

Mine was 54K. OTD in OR was 55K.

unfortunately, a lot of dealerships do this. They will also post the truck at MSRP to get hits, then once you call/email for a quote they add "market adjustments"

At the end of the day you can probably get one under MSRP for a few bucks if you work hard enough. But who has time for that beating LOL. They’re taking advantage of the market and they’re making the money while they can I don’t blame them for that however they are shady at times. I was happy with my deal classic Toyota in Tyler Texas was good for their word not once but two times. This is my second pro that I bought from them and both times I was in and out of the dealership within 30 or 40 minutes of arriving. And the only reason it took that long is because they wanted to make sure they went through all the options which dealers don’t usually want to do or act like they want to do LOL. If you’ve got good credit or you’re paying cash you can get a deal you just Gotta be realistic. Good luck to everybody looking For their’s I’m happy with mine happy Thanksgivingimage.jpg

Is this really the case? The dealer's asking price is something OVER msrp? I've never heard of this.

I'm new to the forum and reading some of these other posts... I see the norm is price over MSRP. Even back in 2018, no COVID factor.

For a car, I'm still shocked this is the case. Anyway these are great trucks.

I love my Lunar Rock so far and am new to Toyota. I am still shocked that the oldest truck in the segment can be asking for a markup. I know it’s a somewhat limited release which of course drives up the demand, but the worst tech/worst gas milage truck in the segment is still getting a premium over MSRP when the big 3 discount roughly $10k just surprises me.
I’m all for it as it will help my resale value but it goes to show how die hard toyota loyalist are.

I was fortunate to get $1000 off sticker which was $55k and paid $54k. Didn’t even ask. Told the dealer I would be willing to pay MSRP after they were about the 20th or so that I had called (none prior had lunar rock) and most were willing to negotiate to MSRP but most had them marked up $3k - 8k. The small town dealer said they discount everything at least $1000 and weren’t sure if they’d sell this unique color.

Depends very much on the market, so not necessarily the norm. Here in FL, there's no difficulty finding one at MSRP. The difficulty is just finding one that isn't already sold. Expand the search radius if you're only finding markups.

I was told by a Dodge dealership that Tundra,4RUNNER and Tacoma’s are in demand
New or used the demand is high to drive up the price

My lunar rock was well above msrp. I did not shop around, I did not negotiate, and I did not spend my own money (boss's gift). Love my truck though. Wandered around the lot last night while in for my 5k tire rotation. Saw only 1 or 2 unsold trucks on the lot in SLC. No pros available.

Wow. Congrats. What’s better than below MSRP? Boss paying over MSRP!!

Way better than my $1k under deal. I did get a trade-in of a lifetime deal tho but still not as good as a gift from boss

Haha, yeah it was a pretty mind blowing day. The man literally buys a car every month, October was my month. It's easily the cheapest vehicle he bought in the last year. I knew I would never come close to receiving any gift like this ever again, so I asked for the dream truck. I'm still madly in love.

I walked the lot of my local Toyota dealership this past Sunday. There was one Tundra... a 2005. A couple of used Tacomas and one used 4Runner. There were a bunch of late model Ford and Chevy's though. Assuming they were trade-in's. With such a shortage of trucks, why would a dealer offer discounts?

    Hell yeah!
I paid 54k for my 2020 army green pro Tundra. They didn’t give me any money off the 2021 pro I paid $58k for that but, they gave me $49,500 for my trade. I did the math and Bam I close the deal!!
You got a remember I had 25,000 miles on my truck in less than a year. So I was going to get it either lose most of my equity or take my equity and switch over to a new one and write the loss off.
With insurance it cost me about $27 a day to drive my 2020 pro.
And my monthly payment is $667
And since it’s my work truck in my private business I write almost everything off. I love me some Pro!
Once I bought a trd tundra i was sold on the truck E4E61397-B8F3-4D45-AA03-47B369FD0ABE.jpgA819084C-B7AC-41B1-BC1D-24E8B13ADCFB.jpg 349F85B5-827A-476F-936B-811209A6A868.jpg
