If a guy had on-board air, I wonder if it'd be easier to stuff an aired down full sized spare under the bed. Then just air that fucker up if you need to put it on.

1: Not sure. Haven't taken a look or measured yet

2: the stock spare will work fine, BUT only on the rear axles. (Already thought this through). If a front goes tits up, then it'd be a 2 tire swap. PITA, but a no cost solution at the moment.

Since then handful of moderate trips..
not much changed. Tire is still in good condition. Air pressure dropped by 2-3 psi..
Most damage to the tire came from where it met with the brackets that were cut off. I went back and bfh'd that shizz..
Also have someone crank the tire up while you guide it into the best place.

This is a full 35" bigger than my ko2 on a full size 18x9 +12 fn bfd

It's really close to the shackle during normal driving conditions. Once I start getting flexy (when you shackles swings out enough) the bolt head hits. Haven't experienced anything out of norm as far as the spare stopping either side from dropping down.
To be honest I haven't gotten to that point only in my stuff/flex tests on my loading dock at work. Even then still didn't seem to affect it/articulation/drop/spare damage etc.

Best place to put it is on a wilco tiregate.. or have a swing out.

If you can spare the space in bed throw i in there and tie it down.

I don't know how people put there 35"s+ / 100lb spare+tire combo on the roof racks. I feel it's more work to get the damn thing off.

Do what works for you. Hope this helps ya out!

I thought the smaller spare would go in the front.

The size of the spare has nothing to do with it, rather, for those of us with the 6" lift and different spindles, it's the backspacing on the wheel itself that becomes the issue.

If your shackle moves a half inch either way me thinks your worries are no longer about a spare.;)

I believe if your 4wd, all your tires must match in size and tread pattern or it'll eat up your gears if your not careful.

There is a guy driving around my town with a lifted suburban on what looks like military wheels and tires, and he has a matching spare on the roof!? It dosnt make sense to me either.

True, if you're in 4WD. Otherwise we are open differential set up. No harm in the short term. Now...an AWD, like the 6spd FJ? Yep. Bigger problem.

Good point sir. Either way. Me myself I will buy a full size spare and sell the janky factory spare. If your wheeling, your going to get a flat sooner or later so best be prepared before you even go. @sdhq_offroad has a few spare tire mounts that I've been looking at. One that slips into your factory hitch and one that replaces the tailgate all together.

And thinking about, with a 2" tire difference, you may have to turn off trac control until you get the proper wheel fixed.

    Damn trac control

Or if you don't go wheeling as often do like cmlenny did. Grab a few d ring mounts to strap it down in the bed. I forget who makes them but there is a company who makes a ratchet style y strap for spare tires being mounted like this.

Forgive my lack of knowledge but how long does the CO2 setup last and is it refillable or does it need replaced?

Refillable. Usually a welding or brewing supplies place will do it for $15-20. They last quite a while, but it all depends on how much you're using. Airing down to 20 psi and want to fill back up to 35? That tank will last you many many trips to the trails.

Edit: and the fill up is fast!!

A 35" tire will fit in the spare location, we do it all the time. We cut the "ears" off of the spare tire mount to suck the tire up deeper so it isn't hanging down as far. It is generally something we do on the single exit exhaust as the dual exhausts usually have to modified so that it doesn't melt part of the tire. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures. I know we will be doing it to our cement pro as well so I will make sure I get pictures of that.

Currently this is how I have my Spare mounted on my 2nd Gen. I used some T-Slots I got off Amazon that worked perfect for the bed rails. The Spare is the stock 18" Rim with a 34" Tire. I will be getting another Bronze Method soon to match the 4 on the ground. I'll be mounting the new Method differently in a rack.

    Tundra%20Spare%201_zpsmxiq4vp0_9005bd8f59fbd7968876c45d21b3769ff6d92fca.jpg

The T-Slots seem to pull hard from the rail but so far even in some rough off roading everything has held up. Do I recommend it... maybe for daily driving. For off roading all the time. No.

It dosnt strain your electrical system. It's quicker than a 12v air supply. You can run air tools etc. fill your buddy's tires.
