So the wife attempted to apply a deer hood ornament to our 06 SR5 2wd but missed and tagged it with the passenger front, doing what I'd call minor damage to the bumper cover and headlight, but missed the bumper reinforcement, so headlight, little panel below the headlight, the thin framework the bumper cover connects to and the bumper cover it self and a small chip in the grill so all needs to be replaced. Somehow, insurance totals the truck and now I'm doing the work. No big deal..so I thought. I have the access cab with the little suicide style doors and found a parts truck of the exact year: 06 SR5 2wd with only one difference...its a quad cab. I get the lights, signals, panels under the lights, bumper cover and hanger. Absolutely NONE of it fit. Panels under the lights are about 3/4 of an inch taller, turn signals are different, headlight housings look identical but have an additional mounting that prevents its installation...and I'm completely speechless. Can someone please help me make sense of this because now I don't know if I'll be getting the right parts if I order them online.

Three different cab types for our trucks, some overlap, but you can’t interchange them. Regular Cab or RC = single cab, Access Cab or AC (what you have; two small rear doors), and Double Cab or DC (four real doors).

That's correct. This thread may help explain why, check the 'cab types and why it matters' section: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/
