Growing up we always had fake trees so when I got married I insisted on real trees. So for the last 20+ years we've done real trees. Similar to your story my wife last year decided she'd had enough of vacuuming up needles, watering, cats in the tree, disposal, etc and we bought a fake from Costco that has all the lights built in. While I miss the smell of the real tree I have to say that this fake one looks really nice and its awesome to pull it out of the box, drop the base down, drop the 3 pieces together and voila! a lit up Christmas tree. Such a time saver

I grew up with real trees and much prefer them. Unfortunately, we're renting so we're not allowed to have a real tree (fire hazard BS). We picked up a 6' fake tree for $40. It works for now. When we buy a house, it'll be back to real trees for us.

I can guarantee a lot of kids still appreciate a Xmas tree and the other "things" that Christmas is truly about and that's not black Friday and cyber Monday.

There is a shortage of Christmas trees again this year due to the 2008 recession. Prices up 25% on the taller trees.

I have a fake tree. I use it mostly. But every so often we buy real. Real is best, but cost, maintenance, and cleanup make a fake ideal.

Real! It's a good reason to use the roof rack on my big stupid truck.

no it doesn't....but when you have literally spent it alone as much as I have its the small things that make you feel close to family when you aren't/or can't be. A real tree....it reminds me of Christmas with my grandparents, parents and sisters.....we cut them ourselves every year....would gather around it to spend time together. it's more than a tree to me....

Yes, I understand. I guess my wording could have been better. I was hoping to have Bree look at her tree and be happy and have a wonderful Christmas! I do however understand the sentimental value of a real tree.
My parents got into the flock thing pretty heavy. We had white and red. I’m actually glad that fad has lost its flavor. :D
