    I just had this same issue and did this fix as wel. It seems the LED bulbs dont fit as well in the map lights as the standared 'ol glass bulbs, was freaking out (due to price of new console ) but after pullng the console down, I did the same thing with a pair of tiny needle nose pliers. Great right up btw .

    I am delighted that the pics and writeup were helpful. Dealer quoted me just shy of $500 just for the parts to do this repair. Very glad you were able to effect repairs on yours.
