Oh and for the F1 convo..we are watching the series on Netflix as well. Still not caught up but getting there.

You would think my wife had watched her entire life. Following drivers on the gram and FB. It’s getting serious lol.

Yeah I think my wife won’t watch the races but she will watch the Netflix series with me. She is just as excited for this next season to come out as I am.

The history of the sport is amazing. I'm glad I'm able to watch Hamilton race, as he's definitely a GOAT. As a general rule I always root for the underdog and so I've never cheered for him as a driver. That's probably why I like Max; he's the only one that's stood a chance at beating Hamilton for the past few seasons. Although he used to drive for Mercedes, I love Bottas. We call him the Finnish Gangsta here. We were laughing during his "highlight" in the Netflix series. The dude looks straight-up ready to brawl. Quite the opposite from the refined, even dainty other drivers. I doubt he'll do much Alfa Romeo, but I'm glad he set his own course.

I tell you what, F1 has made me love Nascar even more. As an engineer, I love the over-refined, hyper engineered F1 cars. Everything, including the pit stops, are pushed right to the edge of possible. But that insane focus has removed a lot of variability and I think makes the drivers hesitant to really race each other. Nascar on the other hand still has the rough edges, making it very American. Bumping is racing and when things go to the wire, you dump the car in front of you and then settle it in the pits if necessary.

    But I love the commercial-free F1 races...pure heaven!

Mine too...heck, even my son follows F1 on his news apps now.

I too am an engineer and is why I love racing and cars in general. Always wanted to design cars for a living but really enjoy what I do now.

I don’t follow Nascar as closely but still appreciate the engineering, strategy, and the bumping as you mentioned. If I’m flipping through channels and it’s on, I definitely stop and watch it.

Got the steering recall letter in the mail. Dropping the truck off next week. At least I'll have a fresh new rack for the 37s lol

Curious if they'll inspect or just do a full replacement. She mentioned they need time to order the parts so we'll see.

I thought the recall was for late manufacturered 2021s. Need to check mine again.

Ok so got a call back from the dealer. They said only applies to parts replaced within that time frame mentioned. So no need for me to take it in apparently.

Guess I should “really” read the notice. Duh! Like mentioned above, the notice says if you had work done after Aug 5 2021…. No work on mine so looks like I’m in the clear.

Yeah I guess there is a chance that if you took an older model in for repair during that time frame you could have got a defective rack.

Good morning. I don’t see the problem.

Unrelated, in your bumper quest did you ever look at the hidden CBI one? I’ll cruise over to the site and grab a link.

I don’t really have a need for a winch…but that bumper center piece looked pretty cool.

I have no practical use for a plate bumper/winch. But if I could clear 37’s I may lol.

Realistically 98% of the soccer fields we frequent I wouldn’t need it..except that disaster down in Delta Park. Would be nice to have a bit of extra armor in case I “lost my breaks” coming/going.

With that said I am stocking up on parts for this truck now. Wheels are in, Fumoto valve & aluminum oil filter cap, BD fog light kit is in. Squadron Pro’s are ordered.

Looking at other small mods now.

I've been waiting on my Squadron Pros for over 3 months now. I ordered the Rago ditch light bracket kit with the SPs early November. Latest ETA for the SPs for me is late Feb - Early March per Rago.

Yeah I heard about 12 weeks when I ordered mine. I wish I could have swung the 30” lower bumper bar while I was at it.

Stupid long lead times are everywhere. We are almost done with our house remodel and I waited 10 months for my Kitchen Aid range before I canceled it.

Nice, I didn't see that one in my search. Will have to recon it a bit. The nice thing about that one (and the Warn) is it is rated for 12k. The SSO and Victory are only 10k. From what I've seen, the Warn 10k and 12k winches are exactly the same other than a gear, so I'd rather go 12k and have the extra umpf if needed.

But bumpers and winches are on the back burner for now. Probably a 2023 purchase. I had a nice spreadsheet and plans all laid out and then decided to buy the Diamondback. Don't regret that purchase one bit as it will give huge benefits this camping season, but it scrambles the budget. Now the paint on my cab steps are starting to fail, so those might need to be replaced next. My OR trip in a few months might include MetalTech sliders. Also, I'm going to pull a fluid sample from my tranny in a few weeks and send it off for analysis. That might suggest I need a cooler. It never ends. I've also got to rat hole some money away for a custom toy...more on that when it arrives.

    I like that SSbuilt one.

I just can't get on board with ADD. A few years ago they built this good awful Tundra and it had ADD bumpers. Since then I just personally attach them to that truck every time I see them. I want to like it.

For the tube style I like the SDHQ one also. https://sdhqoffroad.com/collections...-built-prerunner-bumper?variant=7249730437155

Plate style I like this Demello one. https://www.demello-offroad.com/tundra-front-winch-bumper-2014-2019

But again.. this is just me.
