I called Toyo last week and asked them that same question. They said yes it does have full depth to 2 or 3 /32" i cant recall which, so full to useable tread. Got them installed last Monday. did well in the CO snow yesterday

I think for snow weather the AT2 would better than R/T. Anyone care to comment ?

Man I was thinking Ridge Grapplers but don't like seeing the bad reviews, Toyo RT was a second choice but we do get some snow and ice here and have heard mixed reviews on their performance in those conditions. I've got a little time before my factories wear out but the search continues.

the thing with tires, you will always find bad reviews. Each driver has their own needs/weather conditions.

    See fine print
Yup. And you can screw up great tires if you have bad alignment. Too many variables.

Can't go wrong with either one. Just depends if you want to spend the extra coin. Personally, I've been very happy with the RG.

I would think AT2 would do better on snow/ice looking at the pattern.

The Discount Tire I bought my RG from all said they would choose the RG over the Toyo all day long. Just goes to show that everyone has an opinion. Earlier in this thread someone mentioned another DT saying just the opposite.
I can feel the weight difference on my 275/70/18 but I was coming from stock P metric Michelin tires so it was expected. I also lost about 1.5-2 MPG.
I can’t comment on the long term of these but I have driven on pure ice and through snow and the RG did excellent. I felt they were much tackier on ice than the BFGs I’ve normally run in the past...

I just got back from discount tire. Had them mount nitto ridge grapplers in 295/70. Definitely feel the difference from stock. I would have done Toyo if they made it in that size.

True but wanted a tire that was more aggressive. I have always has AT tire on my past trucks and they have been good to me.

Haha I was going to say I wouldn't have paid the additional $250, but I don't think you will be disappointed with the Toyos. I just got the ridge grapplers mounted up Monday on some new Vision Warrior wheels.

They are 1A auto tow mirrors and no bsm and not power fold. They are great no complaints whatsoever and I really like the look of the smoked lenses. I have no need for power fold but wouldn't have minded bsm had that been an option at the time.

Another question I have is what happens in the case you need another tire? If you thrash one, nobody carries a Toyo or Nitto in stock. They always need to be ordered. Now I've noticed that BFG KO2's are always in stock in most America's tire/Discount Tire shops.

As far as weight according to each manufacturer's website if I wanted to replace the Michelin LTX A/T2 that came on my TRD OR from the P275/65/R18 to a LT275/70/R18 that tire would weigh 59.92 lbs, a Ridge Grappler in LT275/70/R18 weighs 58.47 lbs. I haven't compared weights of other tires on my "list" but I went to a local tire shop the other day to get some quotes and they had the same Michelin as what's on my truck now (OEM) but in an LT and I thought "Damn that tire has a lot of tread", I went outside and looked at mine with 16k and realized I'll be needing new tires sooner than I thought. I even went to the local dealer and they had a TRD OR and the tires on the new one had the same amount of tread as the one sitting on the floor at the tire shop. I though maybe it was a P vs LT difference but it wasn't.

My truck has not even 16K miles and my stock tire tread is at 7/32. I thought this was a little pre-mature.
