Just about time for new tires on the rig. Currently have the bfg ko2s have almost 50k on them. They are the 275/70r18. I am looking to probably go with 295/70r18 this time around and I'm debating on the 2 tires I mentioned in the title of this thread. I also realize that there is definitely a big level of difference as far as aggressiveness between the two. I think both are a great tire. I live in Phoenix az and spend about 80% on road vs 20% off-road. My off-road can't get rough at times getting into my hunting areas. Anyway just thought I would see what you all had to say. Thanks.

Toyo. Look at the weight difference. Plus the 295 is the extreme tread pattern which is the more aggressive toyo pattern. 50k warranty and a 500 mile try out period. SDHQ swears by them on all their trucks. The weight savings alone is worth it for mpg purposes.

i'm a fan of the AT2's but have never tried the RG's, so can't give a solid opinion between the two.

    Working on it :-)
Where can I find the weight? All the sites that I have looked at don't seem to show the weight of the Toyo.

    Thanks, Mike

4wp and discount tire used to post wts on their sites. I also run KO2, REALLY like them. That said, I might be trying Toyo AT2s when it's time.

Any reason you aren’t considering the Toyo r/t’s?

Have not tried the Toyo, but am completely satisfied with my Ridge Grapplers. Smooth and quite on the road and aggressive enough for the trail running I do. Also did well in the last snow storm we had.

Same here ... haven't tried Toyo but love my RGs. Smooth and quiet on the road and aggressive enough to handle anything I throw at them. Highly recommend them.

I'm running 285/65-18. Wanted to keep it closer to stock size in order to keep the speedo as accurate as possible. These are a little larger than stock but the speed is right on when compared to gps.

Looks great. I’m considering these. The guys that are installing my 6112/5160 are pushing the Pro Comp AT Sport but I have no experience with Pro Comp.

From tiresize.com. So really, the weight difference is only about six pounds per tire for a total of 24 extra total pounds rotating. I would think that's not a noticeable difference for MPGs. I eat 24 pound meals. Or tell your girl to diet and call it even. That's sarcasm by the way.
Those RGs look good and aggressive, so be ready to fight when you get out of the truck. Otherwise go with the Toyos.

I’ve got the ridge grapplers and am more than happy with them! Good traction and smooth on the highway. They’ve done amazing in the snow and ice so far this winter

Just for FYI sake, I'm running the 6112/5160 setup in the pic I just posted above. The 6112s are set at the 1.9" notch. Should give you a decent visual to see what the look would be with the RG.

Agreed. Discount tire has always stood by it for me so it will be a tough decision.

I know you can always purchase a road hazard which will cover any tire and you're just liable for the prorated amount of life after >50% tread is gone plus m/b'ing.

Seems like most everyone who has posted generally goes towards the ridge graps but no one has anything bad to say about either tire

Do you have a bigger lift? Seems lifted more than stock. Any rubbing with the 295?

I have a 4” Ready Lift then added a bumper spacer and no rubbing. I also had the plastic mud guard that went behind the front tires removed also those had to come off anyway with the flares being added.
