Got the details for this years San G (Big Bear) TW trip in September (9/20-9/22).
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/5th-annual-san-g-trail-runs-tw-family-reunion-9-20-22.609827/
It’s the one trip we do at a campground, up side is there’s facilities for the ladies, downside we’re parked on pavement not dirt lol.

Lots of spots are already booked so we can take over the whole campground, the thread has been up for a couple days and we already have half the campground.

Awesome people, it’s Big Bear so tons of trails in all difficulty levels, last year there were giveaways from headstrong off road and Cali raised led.

I highly recommended booking a site early
    1 - so it’s done
2 - so non forum people don’t book sites for a nice quiet weekend away and we keep them up all night :drunk:

    Haha.... I wish!
Yeah, you can run the canyon up to the Trabuco trailhead, but honestly its like a 10 minute drive. Also, after teh recent fire, they graded most of the road so it's relatively flat now with the occasional pot-hole.

Indian Truck-Trail goes up to Main Divide, but it starts over on the Corona/Elsinore side.

Btw, if you can't tell, Trabuco is practically my back-yard. As a mountainbiker, I know EVERY trail on that mountain from Blackstar in the north to Chiquita in the south.
There is a race I used to do that starts at Black-star (just before dawn) and ends at Trabuco and Live-Oak.
(Up Blackstar, down Motorway, up Maple to the peak, down Holy Jim and out the canyon to Live Oak road (44 miles, 9000+ feet of climbing). The SUPER HARD CORE guys do Holy Jim and then continue up Trabuco to Horsethief, right on Main Divide and back down Trabuco (55 miles, 11,000 feet of climbing).

My time for the 44 mile version is around 8 hrs.

Oh... I'd be MORE than willing to set up a run to the peak this summer. Either day trip or camping at the top. No camp-fires of course.
