Ok folks, so many of you had fun at the Big Bear and Cleghorn trail run these past two weekends, people are just clamoring for more!

Let's put it to a poll. I've heard Gorman, Anza, even Big Bear again. Let's get suggestions out there, keeping in mind that the trail should be the same type/style as Cleghorn or Big Bear, only because the numbers of people who are newer to dirt.

    So, let er rip!

    A desert route for Anza:

    Vallectio Wash - https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/765-vallecito-wash-trail
Arroyo Seco Del Diablo - https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/743-arroyo-seco-del-diablo-trail
    Diablo Drop Off - https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/752-diablo-drop-off
    Fish Creek - https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/753-fish-creek-trail-anza-borrego

^ You start at Vallectio off the S2 and then it all links together all the way down to fish creek. Once at fish creek there are other trails to explore as well! A while back we explored Lower Coyote Canyon as well as Sand Stone Canyon, that was a blast!
If people want to camp you can cut across Split Mountain Road, follow the rail road tracks and then cut out into the desert which takes you to Superstition for even more fun.

You can camp in fish creek, but you are required to camp ON the trail, you'll get a ticket going off the main trail.

I think it's awesome you all are picking easier to moderate trails. Great for dirt noobs and 2wd trail truckers. Mines in for cam tower till Friday. So once I get it back and run in the repair, I'm in for some fun.

I am up for Big Bear. Anza will be getting hot right about now BUT if everyone wants to go there then i say we do the route that @eccracer104 described. That is a fun Overlanding route to start down on the S2 and work your way through Diablo drop off then to fish creek all the way to the S22 and maybe have some fun at Truckheaven.

It’s all in what interests the members.
As you progress from your first trail you will look for more challenging ones and if there isn’t a big group that goes out, make friends with those that have and go in a small group.

I'll dig up a post I made about four months ago. The answer is "not really" due to temporary closures and such. @TheFreshMouse and I went and ran into a half dozen closures and just gave up. It was lame.

Considering the number of folks without sliders or armor, I think we should stick to something a bit friendlier than Split Mtn/Fish Creek.

How about Holcomb/Green Valley again? That seemed like a pretty friendly starter trail.

No sir. Holy Jim used to be a “spot” but it was never meant for off roading. People live out there so that’s their road home. It’s since been closed.

There’s Indian truck trail which I’ve never done but i think it’s close by.

I’ve never been to truckhaven but I’d like to go!

It will be getting hot soon. Great at night! Just hot during the day. Good thing we have AC!

Exactly. My route was just a suggestion is all

The route listed is 100% doable by stock 2wd, no armor. Some sections will require some finesse if 2wd, but doable.
There’s only one spot exiting diablo drop off heading towards fish creek that gets tight but no sliders needed with some spotting.

Holcomb is very friendly for a starter trail!

I'm down. Call the Trabuco Ranger Dist first. There was a temporary closure due to fire damage and then runoff etc. Maybe that's changed.

Ha! We did Mojave in June a couple years ago. 115* all day long for a few days hurts really bad. But you do get to sleep outside on a cot in your underwear at night.
