Welcome. Scroll through the 3rd gen builds. There are a few of us with Pro builds here. Everything from just new rubber to heavily modded. Beware the more you read through some of the builds the lower your bank account will go

Thank you everybody for the warm welcome! I have a question... I'm looking at truck bed covers, and I know toyota offers "Tri-Fold Hard Tonneau Cover w/Latch & LED Lights" does anybody know exactly which model? Looking at extang website I would want the Tonno Encore bed cover... or are these two totally brands? I wasnt sure exactly how it was spelled when i googled it... and that is when the Encore came up.

:edit: Guess i've come to a realization... Tonneau is not a brand its a type of cover? Is that correct? If that's the case which one are they trying to sell you at the toyota dealership?

You really can't compare the 2, purpose built for completely different things.

I went with a 275/70 which is a little over an inch taller. You can run a 295/70 which is 2 inches taller but I didn't want to stuff a tire

Thanks for the info. I want a bigger tire than stock. Eventually I would go with new wheels and tires but I do need more rubber than Toyota gives us stock. Love the TRD wheels.

That's fair, however I was speaking in a more general sense. Perceived quality, Perceived Durability/Reliability, etc...

I've driven a dodge for the last 6 years and this is my first ford work truck and first toyota. I will say the Ford has tons of power and way more comfortable than the dodge. As far as the pro, I love it. My dad has been driving tundras since 07 and I finally decided to try one. I guess time will tell on how I like it

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome!

I have a question now... reading as much as I can from this site... I see a lot of post about Shim and Shackles? and tundras with a gangster lean? something about being an 1in lower in the rear driver side? (some have said that is due to Gas Tank being on that side) I'm sorry if this has been answered already. But im not exactly sure what i should be searching for... This will be my first Tundra/Truck and i dont even have it yet lol trying to have as much figured out / bought by time i get my truck =)

    Thanks in advaced!

I don't know but there are some really good brands out there that make great products. Don't look online at prices, go to the search magnifying glass at the top of this site and search them here. You will get real advice, perspectives, and great looks at what they look like on trucks. I have one that was cheap but all i wanted it for was to keep snow out. I have other plans for summer.

Not sure what the question actually is but the reasoning about the "lean" isn't as important as the how to get around it.

What you'll find is that if you keep stock wheels and tires you're golden. Even if you upgrade a size or two you are still probably ok. If you go much larger then a balancing act comes into play. When you get larger tires you obviously have less room in the wheel well, which may or may not cause some "rubbing" in specific areas, it just depends on a few things. The rubbing will be different depending on wheel size/offset/manufacturers, and even when the truck was made. Rubbing is also determined by tire size/manufacturer/and rim offset in conjunction with the tires. Each vehicle is different even though it's the same. If you are attempting to go much larger on tires, then some of the details will be more important at that point. Until you decide to start working in that direction just enjoy that incredible truck you bought!

    Good morning!

Got another question for everybody! I know the tundras can switch between 4x4h, 4x4L and 4x2. What do you guys use when driving on the highway? If normal driving is 4x2 do you switch to 4x4 when it rains? I live in Florida where it either rains a ton or or dry as hell... I couldn't find anything specific in the search but i might have just skimmed over it and not know... So any advice is GREATLY appreciated!!
