My stock and original battery started giving me problems as well after 5 years, I didn't want to risk getting stuck anywhere. I shopped locally, Walmart, Costco, neither had the 27 with the left post on left side. Went to Sams club and they had a 27R, most places directed me to the 24, Walmart and Costco both had a 24, but you lose a little with this smaller size, anyhow I picked up a 27 Duracell from Sams club, $99 bucks plus tax, see how it goes. I really wanted to do Walmart only because they are dam near everywhere, you ever run into juice issues, you pop in and get it taken care of. good luck

Glad I found this post, my stock Toyota battery just crapped out (my truck has been sitting for a month and I didnt tend it but it was already on the outs prior, have had to boosterpac it twice from the cold)
Was gonna shell out for the optima, will just go with an interstate one at this point. Its inevitably going to get replaced again in a few years anyways.

Mines at the 4 year mark and due to be replaced. Just ordered an interstate for the truck and a deep cycle for my trolling motor.

Toyota may sell the Interstate as replacement batteries, but I seriously doubt that the OEM batteries that come with the truck are Interstate, with the very poor performance on average.

Duralast Gold. I just replaced the battery in my Tundra about a month ago. I went to leave for work one morning and the truck wouldn't start. Had to pull my other car out of the garage and jump it. I stopped by Autozone on the way into work. I tell the salesman I'm not sure when my warranty runs out, but I want new battery. He looks up my info and asks, "Do you know when your warranty runs out?" To which I reiterate, "no." He starts laughing and says, "today, you lucky bastard." That was a good day.
