I have a 2015 SR5 TRD Crewmax and i think my battery has finally bit the dust. It has now died on me intermittently since November. I dont drive it every day, but i figured 6 years old and a few PA winters took its toll.

I am looking for a good battery but not looking to spend $500

I have an autozone near me and im assuming they sell a battery that would work for me.

Anyone have any advice on what to get?

    THanks in advance

    Not enough....
My personal favorite is Interstate. Not junk batteries, but also nothing too special. 5 year warranty, and a decent price. I think I paid $145 for the one I'm about to pick up. It might be closer to $160 retail.

Unless you're running tons of fancy equipment on your truck, there is definitely no need for fancy batteries. I'm in PA too and have always had good luck with Interstate.

Also in PA and haven't ever had any issue with the mid to high range batteries from any parts stores.

Since it's close I'd just grab a Duralast Gold from AZ. Should run you about $175.

If you wanted to support 'local' Deka batteries are made in PA, a little harder to find but most regional parts stores carry them.

Thanks! i dont mind supporting local either- autozone is close and also gives me 7% back toward my kids tuition, so i will probably look there . I dont run anything fancy in my truck other and 2 strips of LED's in my Leer Topper.

Costco sells Interstate batteries (at least here in Bamaland) for a drooling attractive price. My factory original is at 4 years and 3 months. I'm gonna replace it with an Interstate here within the next couple of months.

Mine finally died a few months ago and I bought the Odyssey Extreme after a ton of research. I have been extremely pleased.

My battery died last month. Lasted 4 years. After shopping Autozone, Costco, and Sams Club ... ended up getting the same battery from my local dealer. Believe it or not ... the dealer was cheaper and had a better warranty. My dealer is only about 10 miles away from my house.

Toyota TrueStart has always given me a weak cold start. After that, no hesitation in starting. It's gotten worse since not driving to work every day now. I was tired of that sequence so looked into a battery tender. Some info from members on here also.
Purchased a CTEK 7002 and a Deltran Battery Tender Junior, both from Amazon. There are many others though.
Both work well. One on the Tundra and the other on my lawn mower. Weak cold starts are a thing of the past.
Whatever battery you decide on, I think the battery tenders would be a good addition.

I replaced the AGM I had issues with with an Interstate MTP 27F.
It did great in our unusual single digit temps last week..

And as @preacher35 stated, congrats on getting 6 years out a original battery.

Toyota uses Interstate batteries, they have an 84 month partial warranty, I believe the full warranty is 3 years... They're not incredibly expensive from the dealer actually

And there are Walmarts all across the country for when you need to replace under warranty.

    Function before sparkle.
Some 3rd gens came with a 24F from the factory. I think it was before the tow package was standard or in warm climates where the higher CCAs were not as critical.

If you don't have a Costco membership nows the time to get it! The Interstate batteries alone are worth it.

That explains it. Up here in the cold north almost every Tundra sold is a 4x4 with a tow package.

I have had 2 truestart batteries. The one in my Tacoma was 5 yrs old when I traded the truck towards my tundra. I had one in my Camry that was 4 yrs old and sold the car. Never had a problem with any of them.

Something to keep in mind when selecting a battery. I believe there are only four battery manufacturers in North America and that batteries from suppliers are exactly the same except for the stickers. You could end up paying more for the same battery if your not careful.
