    No body mentioned a cat?
When we moved to our acreage we were forced to pickup a cat. I was going through the large sticky-traps like crazy.
The cat *HAS* to be a barn cat. We aren’t cat people, but our first one that was eaten by a coyote last year was a ruthless monster. Hated indoors, would kill moles/voles/field mice and drop them at our back door. An hour later she would eat them entirely. 2 a day, every day.
    Best $80 ever spent.
We’re on 13.5 acres backing 100+ acres (PNW evergreens - squirrels love) and oddly enough we don’t have squirrels. I think just the presence of a cat keeps them away thank God.

Was scrolling through replies hoping to see a response like this. Try a cat. If you get a good one they don’t fuck around. Murdering any small vermin in site.

Yep. Ours even stalked the deer. And she damn near got trampled on by a mama doe. Her only goal in life was murdering.
My mom brought her small dog over and Piper (our cat) attacked the dog like it was a rabbit. Bit it on top of the head so bad the poor damn dog had to have it’s head stapled back together. It was a viscous and unfortunate attack none of us were expecting.

Those cats are a worse nuisance in most neighborhoods. Killing mostly birds and not even looking at the squirrels.

Either the clamp traps or the have-heart traps (with a 22cal pellet rifle "close out" inside your garage) are both good options.

Once the squirrels are educated on how to get in, it is very difficult to get them to go away regardless.

And they keep coming, after years of thinning the herd so to speak, the large grey ones have dwindled locally... only to be replaced by the smaller, fairly manic red ones. They don’t sit still long enough to get a bead on them and they are... without number

Get a couple of Duke or Victor 110 conibear traps and put them at the entry holes, kind of like a tunnel. Cheap, easy to set and there's no tripping the trap and getting away. BTW, squirrels are good eatin'!Victor110conibear.gif
