Easier said then done..... I have not been able to find any SA S15 anywhere locally, or anywhere on the line either!

So for now the factory will work fine w/ 2 extra mags on the belt.

    Crazy times Fo Sho!!!

I’m also considering a new CCW. Currently carry an older S&W 3913, but mags and spare parts have been getting harder and harder to find, even before the pandemic buying spree took hold.

Was thinking about the Glock 43X and the 48. They seem very similar with the 48 being a bit bigger. Looks like the 48 also takes Shield mags? Either way, not sure which one I’d prefer, assuming they’re in stock anywhere.

I hadn’t considered Sig before, but the ones mentioned above also sound like very good options.

Please dont take this as a slam or me being dooshy - For the bros carrying the small frame "pocket guns" , have you guys gone through any classes or training with the small guns?
Ive been through at least a dozen Active Shooter Interdiction training courses and each one has proven to me that I need to carry the biggest gun i feel comfortable carrying and at least one spare mag. P320c in my case.
The reason i bring this up is not to discredit anyone's carry choice, but only to ask if anyone has spent time seriously running those small guns in a stressful dynamic way.

Definitely carry what you like. As far as comfort goes, I don’t think one exist...

I carry the biggest weapon I can for NPE's. Pocket carrying a Glock 43 happens to be the biggest thing I can carry in places where it's frowned upon.

    Understood.
I have a Sig P365 that i was given as a gift for a carry gun , but i honestly cant effectively use it as well as a larger frame pistol. All the courses i've been through , the instructors typically frown on pocket guns as EDC guns, but also recognize them as back up guns.

I carry a G45 MOS with an RMR as my EDC, it's fits my giant hands exceptionally well and I love the red dot.

G43 is my "tucked in shirt" pocket gun, with Hyve +2 mag extensions.

Tried putting your 365 on the XL frame?

Seems like a lot of people do that to get the best of both worlds.

I was in the same debate also, I ended up getting the 48, and waiting for the sheild arms magazines to be in stock.
For now I’m still using my Sig 365XL for carry.

No , but i may look into it. I gave the 365 to my wife to keep in her car. I did get the 12 and 15 round magazines , so now i can hold it more securely .
Still - for me , the bigger P320c is about as small a weapon i would want to carry for social encounters .

It's been mentioned before and I will mention it again, for small CC, the Sig 365 is impossible to beat. Especially in my state where you can't get the Springfield XD-S (they don't make a 10rd yet).

Personally I only carry the 365 if I absolutely need a small gun and it's impossible to carry anything larger (not often). I used to EDC a Sig P320C but with the new reports of the updated version (with the added seer and lighter trigger) still going off in holsters without a trigger pull, that gun has been retired to the safe until there is some more evidence of it being safe. I now daily a Gen5 Glock 19. I shoot it really well but I hate the gun. All plastic and feels like a toy. Break point on the trigger feels like mush and it's ugly as sin. The flip side is I know that it will go bang every time I pull the booger hook and it won't shoot me in the leg because I shifted my holster on my belt.

You realize that every gun you mention in this post is “all” plastic, right?

Both of my Sigs have all metal triggers. All metal magazines. All metal sights. Plus the Sig just "feels" much higher quality.

    I dont shoot Glocks well.
    At All.
Ive dislocated my thumb twice on my shooting hand and the bone didnt heal right , so a squared off Glock feels like shit to me.
Personally ive never experienced my Sig 320 have a NG or trigger issues, but ive switched my triggers on all my Sigs to Armory Craft flat triggers.

I never had an issue with my 320 either but when I called Sig they refused to give me an official statement saying the updated version was drop safe and acknowledge that there was/is an issue with the previous design. It just didn't sit right. The Glock is almost identical to the 320 dimensionally and a little lighter, which is a trade-off I'll take for the overall "cheaper" feel. Still love the 365, trigger is absolutely phenomenal and the size is very easy to conceal.

How do you like the 48? Any reason you chose the 48 over the 43X? Also, how do you like the Sig 365XL?

I like the 48, I just preferred the longer barrel over the 43X . The 365Xl is a blast to shoot imho and holds 12 rds for my ccw, Maybe when I have extra cash I might get the 43X, especially I can get the 15 rds from sheild arms and once there in stock going I’m going to switch and carry the 48. For now I’m just practicing with it.

I’m leaning towards the 48 over the 43X also because of the slightly longer barrel. The Sig is real tempting, but the 48 is a bit more affordable. Also considering the CZ P-10. Decisions, decisions....

Picked up a Hellcat for the extra capacity over the shield I was carrying daily. It’s a little more snappy but runs great.

Oh man that’s a though decision, I have a CZ shadow and held the P10C. , they are so nice, but I just keep going back to Glock, reliable, dependable and affordable, can’t go wrong with your choice.

You should look into the "drop fires" on a P320. It is such an unrealistic and unnatural angle that it couldn't actually be reproduced by dropping the pistol. It had to be hit by a hammer/mallet at just the perfect angle.

Idk about you, but if dropping the pistol and having it discharge is major concern, then I might worry that I'm dropping my firearm a bit too often to be carrying in the first place.:monocle:

I didn't mean for this to turn into a discussion of why the P320C stopped being a comfortable fit for my EDC but nonetheless, the Glock is now my go-to. And no, I've never dropped my firearm. But if I happen to do so, I want to be comfortable that it won't go "bang."

You'll get a million opinions on this, mine is that I wouldn't bother with an extra mag except to have one in the truck. Most gunfights are over with a quickness and history shows you're not even going to empty your first mag. Obviously there are exceptions, I choose not to worry about it. Instead, practice more and become a better shooter.
Same with night sights, In MHOP are a waste of money. When shit hits the fan you're not going to look at them, ever. Your muscle memory will kick in and you'll do what you've practiced.

Have to agree with all of this. In my opinion, a CCW is for immediate action while trying to get yourself and loved ones out of the arena.
If you're in a gunfight where you need more than 10 rounds from your CCW then you probably have bigger problems than not being able to reload. If you need night sights or red dots or extra mags or any of that while trying to extract yourself from the situation (which is what you should be doing, not taking cover to reload and reengage), then its probably because you're already outgunned anyways.

Different situation than open carrying a bigger gun, or carrying a long gun or whatever, or if you're an LEO.
If your job is to run to the fight then sure, load up and prep yourself as much as necessary.
If that's not your job then anything beyond a basic EDC gun is overkill and unnecessary, in my opinion.
If it makes you feel better to carry extra rounds or have more capacity per magazine, nothing wrong with that either.
I carry enough crap in my pockets as it is, another magazine would just be in the way.

I'm a Sig fan for most things, but my EDC is a G43X.
I looked at the 365XL and the G48, but the 43X checked all the boxes for me, nothing more, nothing less.
Practice with your EDC, but just know its not a target pistol and will never be as comfortable or accurate as a bigger framed gun, but that's not what its for.

I'm gonna bet that 90% of the people carrying any gun, including "bros" with full size pistols, haven't gone through training in a "stressful dynamic way".

Which is one of the reasons I am a Glock fan, especially for people who don't/won't practice. Not shooting, so much as drawing and dry firing from any position you'd naturally be in. Sitting on the couch, from your nightstand, sitting in your truck etc. It can't be done enough.

I used to shoot a lot of USPSA, want to see some telling stuff then go watch new shooters, not new to shooting but new to being under stress. The stress of nothing more than a buzzer will cause experienced people to make simple but deadly mistakes, like not disengaging the safetys. Glocks have one safety, keep your booger hook off the trigger, in the dark or under stress you will not remember to disengage the safetys unless you practice a lot and even then......well who knows.
