I’ve carried a gun for several years religiously. Anywhere I can legally carry I do. I’ve tried several firearms trying to find the one that fits me and my life the best. Currently I am carrying an M&P shield 9mm. And have been for about 7 months. Been super pleased with it and it feels better in hand than my Glock 43 Did. I’ve carried 380’s before and while they were super awesome at concealed carry and so lightweight I just feel better with a 9mm or something similar. My favorite carry gun by far was a smith and Wesson 642. I freaking loved that gun. But, during the summer time heat my sweat was starting to completely degrade the aluminum frame and the finish on it. I even kept a light coat of oil on it. I had a Ruger lcr but didn’t like the way it felt in hand. I’ve tried double stacked guns for carry and just don’t like them. I like them for range and home defense but not ccw. I’d like to go back to a wheel gun honestly. But it can’t be aluminum otherwise I’ll tear it up. What do y’all recommend?

I'm with you on the 9 Shield. Also carry a spare magazine. I've had a CCW for 41 yrs. I did 1911's, revolvers, hi-cap 9's. The Shield is my way to go.

Since you like wheelguns, the scandium frame J frames are more $$ but reportedly not as prone to sweat degradation. You could go with a steel gun like an older Chief’s special 36, or a Ruger SP101 but they will be heavier.

Also S&W will fix/refinish your current gun if you want it redone. Pretty sure they would do it for free. I just talked to them about it a couple weeks ago. Might have to move to a jacket pocket or something to keep the sweat off after.

I carry a SW 442 in a pocket holster in the summer. Have not had any issues with finish. I also carry the Sheild in 9mm

My favorite is the 442 as well. Pocket holster or Pistol Pack which is like a compact fanny pack I wear at the 10:00 position (looking straight down).

M&P Shield in 9mm is my semi-auto choice since it is flat, small and light weight. DDon't have a carry choice for that yet since I have not added it to my license yet. I also have an SP101 in .38 Special but it is a bit heavy for concealed carry. Great gun though, one of my favorites.

Have you ever tried Cerakote? Has a very high resistance to corrosion. I usually get all my carry guns cerakoted, I carry AIWB and sweat on them in the summer, never had any issues with it degrading.

Sig 365 or 290RS in 9mm inside a Desantis pocket holster in well made cargo shorts or a 5.11 holster shirt.

Although useful and easy to clean, the advantages of a wheel gun are easily outweighed by its drawbacks. Even revolver ammo is getting more scarce than 9mm or. 45.

Quick draw scenarios are getting less and less prevalent.

    Hellcat or 365.

5-600 dollar ‘stack and a half’ micro-compact. Carry with flat base mag. Extended as spare.

    Boom, done.

I keep a scandium S&W 360 as a belly band gun for jogging cause it’s like a feather, perfect for exercise.

Otherwise only wheel gun I’d EDC is a short barrel 686 plus for the extra round and 357 option.

My current daily is a M&P 9mm Compact 2.0. I love it! I just switched to a Hellcat thought. So much smaller and more comfortable. I AIWB carry.

After quite a few 9’s, 380’s & 45’s, my edc is a Walther pps in 40cal. Single stack, super light, extremely accurate and absolutely dependable.
The glock is nice too, though

I carried an M&P Shield 9 for a few years and really liked it but switched to a Glock 43 a few years ago for a number of reasons. Now I carry a Glock 19 most of the time and the 43 when I need something that conceals easier.

What do you think of the Micro 9? We have had numerous problems with ours (it's been back to Kimber) and my wife hates shooting it.

Love my Springfield Armory XDS 45. I'm not as accurate with it as I am with my Glock, but I love that it's so thin and still a 45.

So the 43X with the Shield Arms upgrade kit; (3) 15 round mags with an aluminum mag release (quick change out) and you are 15+1 without any extensions on the mags. Functions perfectly.

The p938 and the p238 (what I carry daily) are two seriously underrated carry guns. And they just happen to be sexy as hell. Looks like a mini 1911

I've been pocket carrying my Glock 43 with +2 baseplate everyday for 4 years, however When I'm not carrying it, I'm carrying my
CZ P-01(favorite pistol I've ever owned). I am looking forward to Shield releasing the metal mags for the 43's.
