Gotta agree with Joon about the caster and disagree that toe won't cause pull. I've had my toe messed up and it pulled, hard. For about 2 yrs I ran with 4* left caster and 4.5* right, very low toe .07 both sides and 0* camber. Best possible #s IMO for a 3" lift.

Toe will not cause a pull. The only thing improper toe will cause is either an off center steering wheel and/or tire wear. I speak from professional experience.

Sorry, you’re right about the toe. The wheels will just re-center. But the caster? You’re saying it will pull to the least negative side? So it’ll pull to the side with higher caster?

Way too much of an up charge on all of the addons. And they double dipped on the rims/tires by charging you in the TRD Sport package since you never got those rims/tires, then charged again for the aftermarket method rims and toyo tires.

Caster will pull toward the side with the lowest caster reading. Ideally you want .5 difference between left and right side to offset road crown.

Good point. Should of had a brand new set of TRD Sport rims with tires in the bed when he left the dealer.

It's important that you know. If the rear spacers were not put in correctly it will show up with a bad thrust angle. The way the spacer is designed it's easy to for a tech to make the mistake.

check your contract for a rebate/credit for the original wheels, it should be lusted, normally $500-$600. If it’s not listed then they owe you. A credit won’t show on the sticker.

I don't think I've ever seen them provide a credit in the breakdown before, but I could be wrong. I'd expect them to come back with something along the lines of "a credit was applied as part of the negotiation process" or something similar. I've probably been screwed out of some $$$ before as well because I just get in the moment and am wanting to close the deal and drive off, but afterwards you start checking over the numbers and usually see something that catches your eye unfortunately it's too late at that point.

I had to check but some friends agreed with you.
You can't blame me for disbelieving though. The general inexperience and indolence of nearly all alignment "techs" I've dealt with is staggering and has instilled credulity in me, to the point that I will be doing my own alignments in the future.

You said, "You’re saying it will pull to the least negative side? So it’ll pull to the side with higher caster?"

A vehicle pulls to the side with the least amount of caster. In this case caster is lower on the driver's side to offset road crown so the truck should track straight.

Lol. Yes. Least amount of caster is the complete opposite of least negative caster.

How so? If the driver's side is at 2.3 and passenger is at 2.5 then the driver's side number is lower (more neg) and the driver's side has a lower caster reading and it will pull to that side. Positive caster is the leaning back of the spindle. Negative caster is the leaning forward of the spindle.

Yes. I understand that. That’s why I told him to raise the caster on the passenger side. So it will start pulling to the side with more negative caster, which is the driver’s side. And then you came in and tried to correct me and YOU said, “Caster will pull to the least negative number”. The least negative number = the more positive number. Which is wrong. I know that’s not what you meant but that’s what you said.

Hey man, at this point in time what is done is done. You are part of 90% of vehicle buyers that does not do any research. If I did not do any research than I guaranteed I would be driving a Ford or Chevy....

You have no idea how many people are not looking or just driving by and buy on a hunch. A very close family friend is a Chevy dealer and the guy that sold me my Tundra his daughter is now on my daughters soccer team.... Small world!

I know probably 20 Ford owners and over half don't know what engine they have. All they know is it is an Ecoboost or it has the mustang engine in it....

I am different and research everything to the max. I got turned on to the Tundra due to us buying a 17 4runner Limited and it has been the highest quality, best built vehicle we have owned. I started researching Tundras and looked on here daily for 6 months before buying my Tundra so I knew tons of stuff about it and the aftermarket works also.

I am telling you. What happened to you happens way more than you think. I have seen dealers charge a lot more for lifts and tires and people pay it.

OP, I say this with respect.....

I think you have learned a valuable lesson and will know next time. You found a truck and bought it because you loved it and it looked bad ass!!!! I have done the same thing with my jet ski, side by side, and many other things....... All part of learning and researching.

Hell, I randomly went and looked at travel trailers today for the first time e er and almost had one hooked to the back of the truck!

Between lift and TRD Sport package wheels and tires, they squeezed another $6k profit out of the deal.

One more thing. As easy as a spacer lift is to do, there is no way they took that to a shop and paid for that lift.

They ordered the tires and wheels, put the truck on the lift, lifted it up a couple feet, then installed the spacers. Threw on tires and wheels and called it good. I guaranteed they do not have $200 labor in all of that.

I was speaking in general terms on how to set up caster and not specifically to your vehicle.
